Australian cheating at Newlands, where to from here?

And my opinion is that you're talking out of your arse. He beat the shite out of two blokes because of an alleged (not proven) slight against people he didn't know. And you reckon it's a great thing that he violently attacked two men and could have caused significant damage. It's keyboard warrior shite.

But if the two blokes beat the shite out of people they don't know, you think that is okay then?

Are you going to condemn the actions of the person he hit? No, didn't think so.

The guy did have his hands in the air in an act of submission before Stokes hit him if my memory serves me correctly.

On Vaughan's comments, I wonder if he would add that Atherton's team will be remembered as cheats too.

He surrendered after his mate got knocked to the ground, from memory. I could be wrong.

But the person he punched was violently intimidating a gay couple and Stokes' stepped in.

You're not homophobic, are you, and thought that the couple deserved to be bullied?
That’s his story. Stokes probably saw the opportunity to play the oppressed minority card as a defence for getting drunk and beating the piss out of someone!

I like how you ask a question then provide your own answer but a couple of posts ago complain that there are too many defense lawyers posting. You're talking in riddles. Let me say it again. I don't think punching a bloke numerous times in the head when pissed (or at any time for that matter) is a good idea. It's a shit idea. I will add that the back story around defending others is shite but even if it wasn't, the footage of his actions is plum ordinary. Now go get yourself worked up again.

Catter's 070911 ducks and dives more than Joel Selwood.

Question I just thought of - if this ball tampering happened in a big bash match would of anyone cared?

I mean the context is different and it would be tampered for a different reason, but is the outrage all because it was for Australia representing us as a nation?

I’m asking because I wouldn’t care about it happening in the big bash and only really watch test cricket and 50 over world cups.

But considering so much of the public seems to be the opposite to me would these people feel outraged by it happening in something they actually watch as opposed to something they don’t?

It was a NATIONAL captain and you NATIONAL players representing AUSTRALIA.

Big Bash has BIG in its name, its not to be taken seriously. Although I expect the player who did it to be stood down and the team penalized.

Probably correct.

Now I do advocate the bans, it was stupid and blatant. I just wonder if a lot of the extra outrage is from those who don’t really follow cricket

I heard that Candice Warner was playing ‘hide the sausage’ with Mark Tubby Taylor too!

What does this post contribute to the discussion? Candice Warner never played cricket for Australia and she wasn’t on the field at Newlands.

The fact that you think her sex life prior to meeting her husband is any of your business or has anything to do with you or with cricket says more about you than anything else. How would you feel if someone used the sexual history of your partner, your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, your daughter or your son in an attempt to insult you?

Can you possibly imagine what is was like for her to attend cricket matches, with her young daughters, in South Africa and know that her sexual activies as a consulting adult were being used by a crowd of people in some attempt to attack or humiliate her husband?

Do yourself a favour and delete your post.

Regards

S. Pete

Remember when Warner claimed that he tried to hit Root because he thought Root was racially mocking Hashim Amla?

In all this controversy, nobody appears to be sparing a thought for poor old Mitchell Starc, and how he must be feeling now.

If it's true that only three batsmen knew about any ball tampering then, until now, Starc has spent his career believing that he is the reincarnation of Wasim Akram

Because Wasim would never have used a ball that had been tampered with would he?

Funny. Because Wasim was a massive ball tamperer.

If he was the reincarnation of wasim he would have used the sand paper himself.

I’m comfortable with Greg Dyer commenting on cheating. He’s an expert on the matter

Yeah I found it ironic that he's throwing his support behind Warner, Smith and Bancroft when he was involved in one of the most infamous cheating incidents.

I heard today that all three are planning an appeal, at the very least to allow them to play Shield cricket. I don't blame them if this is true and I hope they are successful. I am still of the belief that the penalties are too harsh.

Shield cricket will be good for all I think. Good to have guys of that calibre playing state cricket for a whole season
