more importantly, are we going to be able to keep Ryan Harris?

from article:
They were also hoping to retain Ryan Harris, the allrounder who had a breakthrough season in 2007-08, however questions over his status have been raised after he used his British passport to sign as a local player with Sussex. South Australia are seeking clarification from Harris over his intentions for the next Australian season.

In funnier news, South Australia could be on the brink of signing up to four New South Wales players, according to the Redbacks coach Mark Sorell. Greg Mail, Aaron O'Brien, Tom Cooper and Grant Lambert would all be heading to Adelaide next season...

I think Tom Cooper would actually be a pretty good get for the Redbacks. Not sure what his record is like in NSW state cricket but he's got a fair bit of talent.

Mail
Klinger
Cooper
Christian
O'Brien
Lambert
Manou

What a top 7 - one with a first class average above 30

On a positive note, O'Brien would be a decent inclusion for the one day side - unless your name's Nathan, and Cooper at least is young. Have to think they should be aiming higher from the NSW list

is that combined :D

Its also interesting to see 1 SA lad in there - must be great for the SACA

I still think Cossie and Ferg will be No.3 and 4

Cooper is a great get. He was the best batsman of his group coming through the Aussie youth comps. Just couldnt get a spot in NSW due to depth. Joins his ex-club mate christian.
Could play tests in the future.

It's official that Harris has left us http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23548272-12428,00.html

SOUTH Australian allrounder Ryan Harris has delivered yet another blow to the ailing Redbacks.

Harris, 28, has rejected a last-ditch bid by SA coach Mark Sorrell, and accepted a three-year deal to play for Queensland next season.

He is likely to get plenty of bowling for the Bulls, with vetern paceman Andy Bichel recovering from shoulder surgery and Ashley Noffke likely to be lost to Australian duties.

Harris is playing for English county side Sussex where he made an immediate impact in his opening match where he took four wickets.

His defection leaves SA's bowling stocks looking thin, especially after the retirement of former Test ace Jason Gillespie.

Wonderful work SACA...
