Tell that to heavy energy using businesses ans manufacturing, a lot of whom have installed solar panels on their supermarkets and factories etc but are still experiencing massive price hikes to their bottom lines because solar panels don't deliver anywhere near their demands..
I have no idea what point you are making as you are jumping all over the place.

The lack of energy sources is not because of solar which is increasing as a proportion. Solar & batteries are increasing not decreasing supply!

May have something to do with the coal power stations closing down though & lack of any planning or policy by the Coalition for the best part of a decade to manage the transition... which now needs the ALP need a clear plan.

Nuclear won't help the now which you are banging on about now.

Bicks this gives you an idea of how quickly things are changing with an uptake in renewables... including Australian has doubled renewable energy in the past 6 years to 40%.

So with improved technologies including batteries, EV's & more renewables, this proportion of renewables will continue to significantly increase.

That other fossil fuel the more expensive GAS will obviously be getting a real hiding for many years whatever plan the ALP or the LNP take.

No sensible person is denying that Gas has a role to play for a while yet.

Gas is still a far, far cheaper option than Nuclear... but the crucial issue is its available now & can be scaled as needed.

Interesting that you find it funny Bicks that Australia has doubled its renewable sources over the past 6 years to 40% of our needs. It's a great result despite their being their being a lack of a coalition policy for best part of a decade & left up mainly to the states - liberal & ALP to lead the way.

Probably time you get in touch with reality as renewables will continue to increase as the likes of coal transition out.

Nearly as funny as my posts you laughed at hey...

But unlike you I'm not thin skinned and don't complain about it.

I laughed that you didn't even realise that much of roof top solar doesn't even make the grid... given how much you have discussed this over the year's.

You are laughing at facts that renewables have doubled over 6 years. Why is that even funny?

I wonder why billionaire Mr. Simon Renewables hasn't posted the NEM's own numbers for the last 12 months of the actual inputs of renewables into the grid in the last 12 month period? Nah I know why, it doesn't suit his investments agenda...

The Period 1 Jan 2024 to 5 Jan 2025

Solar (rooftop) 12.1%
Solar (Utility) 7.4%
Wind 13%
Hydro 6.2%
Battery 0.3%

Of interest...

Black coal 40.9%
Brown coal 14.5%

Your own renewable stats are 39%, his tweet said renewables have increased from 19.9% to 38.8% in 6 years.

The link you posted that you've now edited out shows
Rooftop solar $14.62 $/MWH
Solar (Utility) $50.90 $/MWH
Black Coal $136.01 $/MWH

And why after the sun is gone and the wind ain't blowing SA has the dearest electricity in Australia...

And why SA is so heavily reliant on the interstate interconnector after the sun is gone and the wind ain't cutting the mustard at all. That interstate black and brown coal might not be being burnt in SA but it's keeping the lights on and the a/c's humming over there and will be doing so for a long long time yet..

Hence why we need more batteries going forward to reduce our reliance.

You can continue to make the point renewables don't currently provide enough power overnight... but guess what, we all got it the 1st time.

No one is claiming we are currently close to being 100% renewable... but will continue to make up a higher proportion going forward despite your anti-renewable stance.

Coal is a goner going forward.
Nuclear is doubt will ever happen.

Easier to just accept it Bicks rather remain a dinosaur living in the past...

Battery LOL LOL LOL

Battery will never supply enough energy for firming, not ever.

Not ever hey?

Were you able to predict all the technology changes of the past 10 years?

Not even close!

Again a load of bullshit, someone needed to balance the Biden/Harris circle jerk.

Trump is crap, Biden and Harris are crappier as the American voters showed.

The American Political System is totally broken and only a fool would think different.

And your posting on the other thread, tells us everything. You can try and hide it but it is blatantly obvious.

My Tesla battery powers my house at night.
No reason why this can't become the norm with technological advances & increase uptake in EV's.

You literally can’t be that clueless. Again, do you have a time machine?

It is 2024 ffs.

As an example, smartphones are only 17 years old and we are up to version what 16 or more and what they can do.

We didn’t have any battery storage in late 2016, only 8 years ago.

Technology moves very quickly and who knows how far we will get to within the next 5 years.

He and all those other fossil fuel lovers love to say something that at this point in time that can’t be proven wrong but we know the level of technology will see it eventually happen.

Musk is involved in technology, he ain’t stupid, he knows the future and where the money is going to be made.

Bicks still refusing to answer whether he has shares in coal... even though I answered his question when he asked it after I asked mine.

I'm going to assume he has shares in fossil fuels until he says otherwise... as why wouldn't he simply quash it?

Particularly with AI.
