It would be a good start because nothing positive will happen until then.

It would certainly be a step towards peace. But so would Israel retreating back to its own land. The more they keep bombing GAZA and the more damage to women and children, the more provoked and heightened it all becomes. It takes two to tango.

Most Australians get it...

Nuclear will work. The problem is that we need improved electricity now hence Nuclear isnt the answer. Its possibly an answer we can plan for long term 25 30 years from now if we want to invest in it.

What needs to happen is which ever government is elected regardless of which ever side of politics, must spend the billions re establishing our electricity grid to be not only affordable but operational.

And if they were released, nothing would be done about a two state solution.

You see where this is going if that path is taken? Nowhere but Israel will have got what it wanted without conceding a thing. Sometimes you actually have to negotiate - you don’t always get 100% of what you want in life.

So what will end up happening is the remaining hostages will probably end up dying.

Given you were in business, surely you know about the art of negotiating and it doesn’t mean you get everything you want.

Israel ain’t going to concede anything at all - if they were serious they would but Netanyahu isn’t interested at all in negotiating, its only his way.

Most SMH readers get it...THE LEFT

Ken Enderby from Concord LOL

Getting desperate when you post links to SMH readers letters Kano....even you should know the SMH is a lefty publication, yet you sling off at Rupert and Newscorp.

Why are the hostages families so annoyed at the Israeli government, protesting regularly... because they know the government would prefer to obliterate the Palestinians than negotiate to release the hostages.

Hamas gave the Israeli government an excuse to instil maximum hurt...

Once again you just dish the source of an article without even bothering to discuss the actual issues, as you are incapable of doing so.

Nuclear won't do anything to help us for decades... the important issue is how do we replace the decommissioned coal power stations.

Everything else is white noise.

He has learned this style of debate from the deplorables in the thread that shall remain unnamed

A self anointed climate zealot ëggspurt like ole Kenny boi...

And it's not an article with any credence it's in the letters to the editor..

I'll keep my eye on the SMH letters to the editor half expecting one from that Kane McGoodwin fella...

Or maybe checkout this fella Peter Kamenyitzky, Castle Hill, a regular contributor to the SMH letters to the editor, guess what subject?

Maybe checkout Douglas McKenzie, ACT, a very prolific letters to the editor writer and not only the SMH, he can be found on plenty of the mainstream media letters to the editor, guess what subject? I'll help you out "Peter Dutton" "Peter Dutton"etc etc.

Once again you fail to discuss the key issue.

How is Australia going to replace the mothballed coal power stations over the next decade or so? The owners of them have said they can't be kept open til Nuclear is available & have other plans.

The next decade or so needs to be addressed first, rather than prioritising in over 20 years time!
