I cant beleive that News Article said Sydney Born , he may well be sydney born but he played all his junior cricket in Perth playing for Melville before he got an offeer he couldnt refuse to go play for University in the WACA penant comp. Fricking Eastern Seaboard centric media. His formative cricket was all in Perth.

To be fair, the article came from the BBC, not the Aussie media....surprised there was no mention of his Western Australian background, although eddie can claim in future that Rogers kept one of the Vics out of the side because of "NSW bias."

Terrific knock by the young man- did a little check from last eyar- he did not play with Australia a, but scored 46 in the PMs XI match against the Pakistanis. With Langer and Hayden getting up in years, maybe Mr. Rogers will come to the neighbourhood soon....certainly the selectors will have seen him.....

Lee 5 wickets for the match
Gilliespie 2, Kaspa 1

poor effort from gilliespie and kasper and if one of them isnt dropped for the first test its a ********ing joke

At least Rogers is Australian would've hated it if he was a Pom.

But to be fair two of our best bowlers weren't their. Only Lee was.

Lee isn't one of our best bowlers girl. Warne and Mc Grath are like 120 between them, so get used to it, our bowling attack will look something like it did in this game in the near future. The obvious change being Tait for one of the three quicks.

Stafford678, welcome to my list. How could I forget you? The most unknowledgable, fairy floss loving, S-Club 7 listening Brett Lee fan around.

I would say on this tour he is one of our best or haven't you been watching?

One day cricket is very different to first class or test cricket
Yes, in one day cricket you only get carted for 10 overs, in Test match cricket, you can get carted off 40 overs. :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OMG, cant even bowl the 3rd worst county side out twice in a match or defend a lead of 365.

England lost to a W.A 2nd XI side in the past. Now that is crap. That game was a beauty. Hussain was an absolute whinger. Should have heard him carrying on.

( No sledge of the W.A 2nd XI players intended )

If it wasn't for AUSTRALIAN Rogers, we would have won easily within 3 days. Pretty impressive first up performance IMO.

What did Hussain say?

Phil Jaques will get the job of replacing Hayden or Langer. Good player that

No question a fine player....and eddiesmith will surely attest to how good he is, since he plays for eddie's side, Yorkshire.... However, Rogers SHOULD get a shot at one of the openings, as both Langer and Hayden WILL retire soon...with Jaques getting the other shot....

Jacques is a change to get a spot, as is Rogers both have been pretty consistant in recent seasons at Pura Cup level.

I would say Jacques has done it year around for a while though, performing well with 1000+ county runs for Northants then Yorkshire after playing good cricket for NSW.

He batted himself into the NSW Pura Cup side based on county form, he was playing a lot of state 2nd XI cricket prior to making his first-class debut.
