Autopsy Autopsy vs Carlton & the Umpires

Oh I get ya he is normally an arse hat but when he usually goes in on ump he does it well, highlights the poor call and why

Sam is as much of a caricature as Humphrey B Bear is of a Bear

Anyone that knows John Newman can only tell of a great bloke that would give his shirt off his back to anyone

I don’t know that but we are better than them. And to be honest, i’d okay if 100% of the proceeds went to the kids.
Agree, but it’s more about having strings attached

Probably however, even as a caricature some of the stuff he says and does is pretty average

Well true there but playing that arse hat got him out of bankruptcy and a boat I will never own

Must have been an interesting chat with the devil at the crossroads for John

Yeah it’s a tough situation, go too hard and it affects grass root umpires signing up but surely there needs to be accountability like any vocation
The AFL doesn’t want accountability, that’s why they have pushed so hard for things like the dissent rule.

The way they have now conditioned the public allows them the perfect opportunity to help influence and engineer results without any recourse or scrutiny.

The competition is nothing more than a show designed to maximise revenue and the way you do that is to keep your big sides winning and competitive, regardless of if it is at the expense of the smaller clubs. It’s why we have a fixture and not a draw.

I am watching the Crows v Dockers game and I have seen none of the bullshit that was paid yesterday paid in this game. Do the AFL want us to believe that it was pure luck that we copped the 4 blokes that decide to umpire differently and magically make decisions that went in favour of one team?

Well there’s two things from yesterday

1. Start performing and giving hope the crowds will come

2. Start winning and Umpires will be not mentioned
Umpires will always be mentioned regardless of us winning if we are subjected to what we were put though yesterday.

If that was Collingwood on the end of that rort they would be seeking a Royal Commision.

All you ask for as a supporter is the opportunity to watch your club compete on an equal footing. Mistakes get made, but not continually in the favour of one club unless their is an agenda.

If the umpires are poor decisions should impact both sides, yesterday we saw decision after decision go the way of one club and inconsistency in decisions favour one side only.

If you want to believe it was just conincidence then that’s your choice.

Incorrect. The club releases those bays on their preference to TicketMaster and the AFL to onsell

Are you sure on that or is it part of the stadium deal foisted on us?

Would be interesting to hear what Jen Watt has to say on that and how she can improve the experience for us premium members.

Thankfully in Bay 35/36 on L2 yesterday I didn’t get any bad vibes from Carlton supporters even though there were quite a few there (but certainly more North people).

I’m only going on vague memory from 96-99 we barely spoke about Umpires because we were so good.

We’re frustrated because we’re not there yet

I don’t think the Cats fans were worrying about Umpires in 2022, or the GoDeez or Tigers b4 them

That’s where we’re heading

Feel zuhaar is going a little under the radar, comp wide, ave basically 20 touches and 2 goals per game. Had 8 scoring shots yesterday (if umpires weren’t stupid it’s 9) and on another day he wins us the match.

I liked all of what you wrote but wanted to single out this bit.

Cam can seriously play and continues to get better year on year. You wonder what his ceiling is actually going to be. Maybe sometimes we (or myself actually) take him for granted a bit.

He's seriously in career best form right now, and that's saying something given some of the things he's already achieved.

Just re-watched Clarko's presser. I hope he wasn't more hell bent on trying to send a message with Cunners, rather than trying to win the game. I find it incomprehensible that his presence would not have had an impact in the forward line.

lol what message would he be sending?

Cunners was terrible and rightly subbed, and it proved to be the correct call as Greenwood had an impact. This idea that he's always going to be a dangerous forward in the days of zoning and intercepting is a bit fanciful.

I feel it’s on par with the 2015 prelim in Perth.

Both absolutely disgraceful.
The 1994 prelim was far worse. We may never see it's like again. I was there, on the third deck of the old Olympic Stand. 33 free kicks to 12 and they win after the siren. We should have won by 6-8 goals.

I understand that we aren’t there. We won everything in regards to stats. You dont see teams winning clearances, contested ball, inside 50’s and all the other key stats to winning games of footy then losing. We were absolutely ****ing rorted. It pisses us off because we arent there yet and we deserved that win.

I hear ya and I was equally annoyed but equally frustrated at the Man Mauling we got from their gun forwatds

Anyway, move on, Hippwtf and Danisook next week

Did you not see the presser? As Clarko said, if you're not performing or playing your role, you'll come off. That was the message.

Sure, he wasn't getting it done on ball, but he's gone forward in the past and delivered. So why not play him there instead of subbing him?
Clarko has many traits, stubborn is one of them.

I had no issue with Greenwood coming on, should have happened earlier, he should have started given he was fit. But not for Cunners, not when there was an obviously injured and incapacitated player out there. Wrong call.

The competition has changed massively since the 90’s. the AFL’s mandate now isn’t footy, but money.

The clubs you mention are big clubs. It’s in the AFL’s interest to keep their fan bases happy and engaged and the best way to do that is to give them the best possible chance to win.

Weitering would’ve had an absolute picnic running off Cunnington

Yes Rod, because he was specifically asked about subbing a heart and soul player. He correctly pointed out that your status is irrelevant if you're not playing your role in the team

Woah woah woah

Im not wearing a tin foil hat here

If you are elite like those three (and where we are aiming) all external noise and influence becomes meaningless

Never heard Federer or Jordan or Barty complaining about externals because they were striving to be above excuses

That’s where we need to be
