Sziller, Fletcher, Morrison, Fleming and Nicholls were taken in the draft. Hudson, Blumfield (pick 28), Hilton (pick 8) and Biddiscombe (pick 24) were gained by trading away draft picks (in brackets). A couple more from the early 90's were Steven O'Dywer (pick 3) and Stevan Jackson (pick 16). A couple of the picks the Tiges traded away were used to snag Jude Bolton and James Kelly. Ouch!

It all started for the Tiges in 1976 with the worst swap in history - John Pitura for Whale Roberts, Teasdale and Francis Jackson to South. The 80's included the trade-wars with Collingwood that bleed us dry then came the 90's and trading away first round picks for duds.

A good trade for Essendon (I posted this on another thread) and not so good for Sydney involved Andrew Bomford.

In 1998 we traded Bomford to Sydney for pick 36. Pick 36 was used on Danny Jacobs.

Jacobs was later traded in 2003 for Pick 6 (Kepler Bradley) and Mark Alvey.

Effectively, we ended up trading Andrew Bomford for Kepler Bradley and Mark Alvey.

We got Wellman as well (also included pick 45 - Scott Hodges). Top trade for the Bombers.

Another good trade:

Denham for Barnes and an unused pick.

Some dud trades:
Mal Michael for Molloy and pick 44, ontraded to the Cats for Carl Steinfort (which actually turned out to be Josh Hunt).
Brisbane was dudded with Starcevich, Lehman for Buckley and pick 39 (Jason Wild).
