He's a very talented player but he can't demand a starting midfield role while also picking and choosing when he chases and shows effort. I can't imagine any club would be happy with how slack he is half the time.

sounds like the type of player Essendon would froth over.

I don't watch the dogs often enough to know so genuine question:

Is he being slack in not attacking, or is he not smart enough to know? With the number of ball winners you have it looks like something that could require a bit of coordination

If he did come to the cats at least there wish be much confusion: me Bailey, me chase ball

He gives up on defence very quickly when things aren't going his way.

He's no longer playing on instinct. It feels like he's second guessing literally every action he's completing on the footy field. It's a combination of a lack of confidence or perhaps even trying to follow instruction too closely.

Baz has completely lost himself as a player and what his capabilities are. I'm firmly in the camp that he only succeeds at the Dogs if we bring in an entire new coaching staff to overhaul the program or he'll have to have a fresh start elsewhere.

What does everyone think? Will he request a trade?

Hard to say, the fact clubs like Geelong seem to think he is gettable makes it interesting.

Dogs could use another top 10 pick or two to try reignite their somewhat sluggish midfield.

No guarantee that Bailey will ever recapture the amazing first 3 seasons of his career, and this is probably the last year they can get a decent haul for him (trade wise)

i dont remember his kicking being so noticeably bad 2 years ago. what has happened?
We honestly have no idea. It was a strength in his early career and was passable up until 2021.

The last two seasons have been abysmal, like almost worst in the league bad. I can’t explain it given his early career kicking was good enough.

His decision making was always pretty crap but his confidence looks totally shot now. Used to bomb down the line a lot but he had good technique and often to the advantage of his teammates given he had great penetration on his kicks. Now he's just straight up hacking it forward without even looking for his teammates.

Regardless of what happens, the popular belief is Bevo is the issue, not Baz.

That changes things for mine. Dogs would be keen to see what he looks like with a new coach.
