Will be interesting to see the fallout from this though. From what i've heard Callander is pretty popular with the guys over there and it's not like he has done a bad job either. Might prove to be an unpopular decision.

Don't know where you get your mail from but nothing is done yet, and Callendar is 95% chance of returning as coach.

Thats a good point.

Back to your other comment....I wouldn't think that EDFL B Grade would be better or on Par with the BFL.

No way the EDFL B grade is on par with the BFL. The bottom end of the edfl b grade is wuite large and horrible, and the top end is ok but sunbury would be 8 goal better side than the contenders who a more like mid level BFL sides.

If the Ballarat league was to merge with the central highlands there would have to be 3 divisions of 10, 10 and 8. I would say that there should be 2 divisions in the CHFL as is as the difference between the bottom sides and the tops sides is massive.

Maybe, but that 95% is dependent on a lot and none of it is in Callender's interests. He is almost being forced to walk away so that it doesn't appear that the club has ditched him - bad for morale.

That is incorrect, Dave will be at the club next year 95% chance he is coaching and would only not be coaching if he didnt want to coach. Mitch Hahn is not signed as coach and would be extremely suprised if he was. Would expect that he is more chance to coach Darley than Bacchus Marsh

Think you revealed more than what you meant to in that post, which makes me think my mail is correct.

Dave will be at the club next year - In what role?
95% chance he is coaching - Why is there even a 5% chance that he won't be?
Would only not be coaching if he didn't want to coach - Does this mean if he doesn't accept the conditions placed upon him to remain at the club in a 'coaching' role?

Thats what I thought, they would be better than most of the A grade comp to, other than the top 4-5 I would have thought.

If they are happy in the BFL they will stay, if they have 11 teams and can bring 1 more in that would be ideal.

Too many in the CHFL for 1 Division at present.

As many other clubs would be doing, BM are currently in the process of reviewing the season and in discussion with current players and officials about the commitment for next year. From what I understand the club is very happy with Dave and would like to see him return next year as senior coach and are in discussion with him to sign on for next year. Barring unforseen circumstances Dave will be coaching BM next year. Odds are $1.01.

As THE head coach or in another role?

I never compared EDFL B Grade to BFL, as there are some putrid sides running around at the bottom level of B Grade. All I said was that Sunbury would be no guarantee to win the B Grade flag and compared it to Pascoe Vale who would have spent 200k+ this year and are no certainty. B grade EDFL would also be very different footy to BFL, with smaller grounds and tighter footy, but I still think Sunbury would most likely win the flag first year if they were to come to EDFL.

Head coach.

Mitch Hahn from what I understand would be as much of a chance to be senior coach of BM next year as Heath Scotland would be of coaching Darley next year.

Next year : Shane Robertson to coach Darley. Cox and McKay to play there also. Callender to still coach BM as he should and East Point to look for new coach as DJ to go to Hepburn as coach.

Odds are at $1.02, for "rocket"Keane to be coaching next yr as he is the be all end all of all things sport in the marsh....according to him

Best wishes to the young kid from Bacchus Marsh under 16's, in a bad way in hospital on life support. I'm sure we all wish him a full recovery and our thoughts are with his family and club

Anyone have an update on this? We heard it at the Darley/Redan game on Saturday, a few of the younger Darley blokes are mates with him I think.

Article in Ballarat Courier last week has DJ reappointed at East Point for next year.

Sunbury
Redan
North City

all to win this weekend.
Melton South and Ballarat to hang the boots up for the year.
Thoughts?

Does anybody know how bfl teams go with numbers in the reserves? Ive been playing central highlands footy at a club that isn't well coached and has given me barely any game time when I've played in the past 3 seasons. I'm willing to make a switch to the bfl if it means i get at least half decent coaching and a fair go
