Like vineyard said, he asked for money again this year, was well overpaid last year and didn't even end up playing in the ones. He is no loss at all, probably a gain for us.

What "ballpark figure" do we classify as being overpaid for this player? He must have come to the club with a big rep for them to sign him in the first place.
What position did he play?

Not exactly sure if Anderson played or not, I dont know anything about their game on the weekend. Anderson is a class player, very good in finals last year and reports suggest throughout the whole year once he found his feet.
Should be more info from South, Lakers, Redan, Rat and Sebas in next few days you would think once they all get their praccy matches underway and with lightning premiership next week interesting to see if anyone takes it serious or not?.
What are your thoughts on Houlihan BB or KA, will he replace Baird who was a top level goal kicker in this competition.

Hey Prem, can we expect South to field a strong side against Gizzy, or will their recruits be rested for the round robin?

From what I hear, he whored himself out all over town before coming back to Darley where i believe he began his junior career. Had big tickets on himself because he was tall and athletic which is in demand these days.

Not sure of what sort of cash he was on, but if it was anymore than a $1 a game it was money flushed down the toilet. He is simply not a footballer. Doesn't understand the game, doesn't even seem to understand the rules and was a total liability on the field during crunch time. To watch him was like only having a small blanket on a cold night - pure frustration.

If someone could teach him something about the game he would be very valuable up forward as his height and athleticism would be hard to match-up on.

Wouldnt have a clue 19th. Havent spoke to my mate down there for a week or so. Will give him a bell and see what I can find out. Last time I spoke to him he said everything was going well at both Melton Clubs and the talk down there was around Sunbury which probably matches what has been on here. I wouldnt think any side would save players for the lightning premiership, thats the round robin you mean I take it.

Anyone know if the lightning premiership generates much cash for the league? Its the only reason I can see why we still have it around. It appears to be a huge waste of time. None of the clubs seem to like it or take it seriousely.
Also it is usually only the 2nds playing anyway, so clubs cannot gauge much from their opposition for the upcoming year. Do the BFL teams have to play in it?

It would generate a fair bit as all the players, coaches, staff and etc pay to get in. Throw the supporters on top of that and you've got a pretty good money spinner for the league.

The concept is good, but you are right in saying that nobody gives a $hit about it.

19th....Gisborne v Melton South tonight, spoke to my mate this morning wasnt sure who was playing or not playing, said he expects neither team to field a full strength side being so close to easter however did believe mcmahon and sutton were both definitely playing.

With the drought affecting most metro leagues and some country competitions, just wondering if it has caused any delays to the start of the season in the B.F.L.

Will be interesting to see how the both function in the forward line on that postage stamp of a ground.

Your right there.
Still, probably a problem you would rather have than not. Got to remember everyone plays 9 away games to, and the big one is won on the eastern oval. So to win finals you really need two or three marking forwards, like redan had with reid jones nicholson and murrihy last year.

Heard east are playing a praccy match the day before the lighting premership. The only reason for it is to pull in the cash for the league. As someone who will be playing in it, i see little benefit. A club wants 25 blokes in the mix for round one but can hardley give them all a run in 12 minute halves

Hi other footy fans just wondering if someone could fill me in who are the top 5 or so players in the b.f.l over the last and cuming year????? lived in the rat for 4 years but havent been bak for a while!!!! cheers

The Marsh are playing a Geelong team called Bell Post at home on the 14th. With new recruits, should account for them easily you would think.
The only thing is, the round robin is the following day.

Serge is coaching Sunbury again this year. Not sure when he will play - doubt he would miss the Melton South game though.

Surely Serge would be better off concentrating on his coaching. He has a good side cabable of taking it up to the Redans and Easts. Was a great player in his day, but getting older and more undisciplined as time goes on. Would do more harm than good to come in and out injured and suspended.

Ive been following this thread for a while and im confident I know more than you jerk! You are clearly a darley deadhead. Get a life creep, ive never seen you post anything worthwhile other than bagging others and talking up the devils. Like Power, he and the devils have had their time! U and I both know Darley are in for a lean year.
Well said mate.:thumbsu:

Hey man heck off. no one gives a **** about the unders. Its all about the recruits, they win flags not the dickie unders, jerk.

You mightn't care about the unders but many clubs DO care. It would be very funny to see you get beaten by one of the under 18's players in a contest.

yeah have to agree here. he came over to the marsh for a while looking for cash too. when they only offered him the normal base payment he went back to Darley looking for cash. Yes he is tall and athletic but not much of a football brain or skill.
