He has only just come back from a mental health break so he might just feel like chilling out out a bit more which is understandable.

I think thought did go into them but it’s just whether or not it was the right idea

Most of them wouldn’t exactly tempt you to buy them but I think it’s more the franchise idea targeting young kids

It really would have been interesting to see how the Big Bash would have grown if it hadn't been franchised all those years ago, and given an exclusive period outside of the Test schedule so that all national players could play (would mean scrapping the ODIs that nobody shows up to anyway).

Full strength state lineups along with 3 quality international signings in a shortened tournament would have done just as well if not better than what we have now. The trouble is that the Big Bash will never attract top International talent whilst its positioned in the middle of a busy touring schedule. The IPL were clever to secure a relatively quiet period of the calendar where not much Cricket (if any) is going on.

Doesn’t have to be higher quality. Just needs more runs. Flatter wickets and perhaps more incentives to have a higher scoring team instead of investing in slow bowlers.

The real excitement is boundaries and hopefully a close chase.

At least more teams are still in the hunt at this stage of the season than last year. Last year the Stars and the Sixers were both hadn’t won a game. Perth’s a fair way back, but if they get on a roll they can still make it.
