Only 1 win from the last 12 for teams batting first. Then again, that was also Perths record v the Renegades before tonight!!!

It didn’t. Poor cricket shots did. Why were half your batsmen play across the line slogs. Connolly showed your side how to bat and ended with a solid contribution. Toss made very little difference

Whole comp is fast turning into a coin toss for the win. I think we’re at 1 team defending a total so far this tournament. Teams just know what they need to get a chase done and are getting better at it.

That’s how a coin toss decides it though? Especially in games like this.
Batting team doesn’t know how hard to go to set a total and it becomes easier to assess that as the innings progresses.
The total was fine. You just want to be the chasing team so you can pace yourself better

Ie. they know it was under par otherwise they wouldn’t have said anything trying to defend it

Zach Merrett looks like a handy spinner.
He played in a number of rep teams as a batter and medium-fast bowler. Before he made the switch to focus on footy.

They need to do some work on these pitches, massive advantage batting 2nd at the moment.. what’s that 10-1?
Dad was a handy sportsman - cost me a
one day catching me at slip in the 90’s. Uncle was a dead set gun and if TAC Cup was in play back in the day would have played AFL.
The BBL is NOT a good competition while the playing surface of Marvel Stadium is not up to standard. This game was laughable, we can't get our top players playing and one of our main stadiums can't make up its mind if it's a sporting venue or an entertainment venue? They need to move all remaining games from Marvel to another venue now!!

Or and here’s an idea don’t recruit brainless sloggers who have you 2 for nothing. The toss doesn’t make you make 11 runs in the first 4, nor does it make Turner play across the line and he should know better.

Reading the you tube comments of this game are refreshing.
People lauding the BBL from India as the best comp in the World and enjoying the game.
Marvel hopefully will get better as time moves on.
Both teams scored 140 plus so it can't be that bad.
I thought it was a terrific pitch and both bowler and batsman could get something from it if they dug their heels in.
The slow outfield gave us a 4 all run.
Do we always have to have a lightning fast outfield and batsman favoured pitches?
Nowhere near as bad as suggested the conditions.

Pitch was very difficult to bat on early and in T20 it’s simply too much of an advantage to the team that one the toss

Nup just left Melb this morning. Heading to see some more BBL around the country.
Sydney on Boxing Day then possibly Manuka on Saturday.
