The takeaway is that it's 2025 and the cameras/technology aren't up to scratch.

I think there's enough doubt to not give that, especially with real time replays.
Yes,the cameras are shocking like the footy cameras.
Have to get better cameras.

What’s the rule here though? The ball breaks the stumps via the hands. So does he need to have control of the ball before his hands break the stumps or can the ball push the hands onto the stumps and still be given?
As long as the bail isn't completely dislodged (the fielder can literally remove one end of the bail from the stumps) then it is out if the ball removes the bail completely.

Would have liked the frame inbetween the 2 frames that we got there, reckon theres a chance he broke them inbetween
For me he definitely starts the process of the bails being dislodged before the ball gets there. They start wobbling and then the zing bails go off when the ball gets closer. Not really sure of the ruling behind that either.

There is probably good enough technology but like the AFL they don’t want to spend any dollars on it

Our wonderful game is too exciting to use silly things like modern technology.

Let the middle age, old retired men, with a bare knowledge of modern rules speculate on live TV.

The kids watching at home love the excitement of it all.👍👍

Ed: my personal favourite is when they become Medical Consultants & say things like ‘Aw, that doesn’t look good.’

No, he doesn't need to have control of the ball but if the bail is dislodged by his hand, then his hand needs to be in contact with the ball.

Early on for sure. But at least we’d start getting some consistency back. I’d rather watch Weibgen get a full season than I would Vince and Duckett playing half the games and then pissing off to a league that’s paying more
There's no way in the world broadcasters and the fans I think would want to watch a weakened comp.

They need to reduce the length of the comp by 2 weeks so they can retain the imports.

I like that we can still have arguments over decisions even with modern technology, that's one of the great traditions of cricket.

No doubt.

One of the great laws in cricket is the lbw law.

It doesn’t actually happen, it never has.

It’s an umpires prediction.

No other sport has that.

And if it starts being dislodged before the ball gets there but isn’t completely, then?
Then it isn't considered dislodged/broken. A bail needs to be completed removed from the top of the stump for the wicket to be considered broken.

No way, the quality of imports aren’t high enough to restructure the whole comp for..

Same problem the AFL has. Hamstrung by broadcasters and unable to make the tough calls to get things right long term.
