No idea why he didn't have a bowl.
Bit of a waste having him in the team when he bowls one ball in the final over.

As a spinner I despise it, don't think Paine had any intention of using him if they needed like 7-8 off the final over, he would have gone to one of his quicks.

Why select him only to chuck him the ball in an impossible situation? Kills confidence

Hussey still gobbing off, pretty easy to do when your home. Can see the Stars getting done come finals missing their stars.

Meaning Malinga? Who was missing tonight, and players like Maxwell, Wade, Faulkner back? I don't think so

Bird and Malinga? Still have a very full strength batting line up

Anyway Dussey will just have to live with his batting average of 119 this series and playing in an undefeated side, is funny to see a bloke mouthing off when his side is getting beaten comfortably like Laughlin was

Game was still in the balance at that stage, he's hardly on his own, especially against the angels that are the Stars.

My mistake, if all their players are available then there's no chance they'll lose. One can only hope though.

Is Clint Cooper a stand up comedian when not Stars CEO ?
Must be by this doozy

Chief executive Clint Cooper said the club and players were "deeply offended by the comments made by Tim".
"We're considering our (legal) options over the next few days about what the best option is.
"There's been quite a lot of innuendo around the league and the boys are disappointed when we hear talk about how the team has come together.
"There's been a really strong core group of guys who decided to take significant unders (less money than they could make elsewhere) to play together.
"We've got largely the same group that were here in BBL01 that are here in BBL03 - no one was making comment back then, but now we're winning and discovering superstars like Marcus Stoinis and James Faulkner, the game has changed."

Onya Tim Paine :thumbsu:
Just saying what a lot of people think

What I read: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

What a clown McGuire is - acting like a child again. All he had to say in response to Paine's tongue in cheek comments was not true at all and leave it at that. But no, what does the clown do: he says he he will go through Paine’s comments with a fine-toothed comb and “will take legal action”. He continues to crap on:

“I don’t know who Tim Paine thinks he is, a modern-day Kevin Sheedy or something, ‘mate just stand behind there with your overgrown gloves and try to catch a couple’,” McGuire said, adding that if Paine dropped a catch he would invade the ground and let him know all about i
Oh you're so cool Eddie. :thumbsu:

Do it Eddie,DO IT !!!
I wanna see the security take that on the fat twerp, perhaps accidently dropping a knee into his jaw or breaking a few limbs.

To clearly state that the opposition is cheating cant just be passed off as a toungue in cheek comment in a sport like cricket. But i sure Paines a really good bloke unlike those terrible people playing for the stars such as Hodge and Hussey.

We clearly have a case here of 2 wrongs not making a right.
Firstly, it's pretty poor form that Paine would make those comments about the Stars' salary cap. If he even had the slightest knowledge about how McGuire runs Collingwood he'd know the squad would be under the cap. Maybe only just, but they'd be under.

But, for Ed to get all worked up and threaten legal action and take a cheap shot at Paine is pretty childish. Good to see that he still can't let stuff go and his only way to comeback is to pour even more petrol onto the fire.

Hopefully the game isn't overshadowed by these events...

The cap itsn't serving the purpose of making an even competition.

What can you do if players are willing to take pay cuts to okay in a successful team, especially when the big bash only forms a portion of their income?

It's also not the Stars fault that other teams like the Thunder have buggered up their list management.

In 3 years, only 2 out of the 8 teams are yet to make a semi final (Thunder and Strikers). The Stars have skewed it this year, but the competitions been pretty even for most of its short existence. Stars are going to have issues in a couple of years when Hodge and Hussey retire. Wade may go back into the Test team after Haddin retires, Faulkner could get a permanent gig. Maxwell's not going to be available all season.

Stars will come back to the pack at some stage in the next couple of years. Hell, they may play to form and choke again tomorrow night.

What joke. Paine jokingly says that it seems like The Stars have and endless salary cap (and it does seem that way) and Red Face Eddie starts blowing some bluster about legal action. Seems like he is protesting just a little too much.
