I wouldn't have thought so. He even said on SEN today that he didn't want to take it through the courts.
One day someone will stand up to him. Not sure who that will be, but someone will.
Would have liked to have seen a McGuire vs Kennett serious stoush.

Whats the big deal Paine is only saying what alot of people are thinking, Look at the Stars line up it is so far better than the next best team it isnt funny, Of course people are going to be thinking how did they all fit under the cap.

I was surprised that Tim Paine said anything at all!! To give him the benefit I think he was trying to do 'a Sheedy' & stirr the pot to get some media attention on the game. If not then he was being dumb. He did apologies which I think he should do to.

Hopefully Eddie & the Stars GM settle down before having kittens, or a stroke even!! They too might be playing it up for the attention. If not they too should put up or shut up. Threatening legal action makes them look pretty silly. What Paine said would go no where in any court action.

A bit of spice in the game tonight is probably a good thing. I hope people dont get too carried away with things.

To accuse somebody of cheating basically says that that organization were lying and being purposely deceitful.

Dunno. Eddie seems to do it quite often himself.

I don't think the Stars are cheating but it's indictive that the salary cap is failing at what it was designed for.

Probably time to follow the WAFL and in addition to the salary cap give players points and clubs are only allowed X number of points in their squad.

If you listen to what Eddie said, they sent cheating but players are also employed as more than players eg brad hodge is the batting coach as well as player.

What gets me is how on the stars afford the huge entourage of extra staff that go to every game, plus with the likes of viv Richards, Ian chappel & even Shane warne of the last few years

At the end of the day it's still 11 v 11 and a cricket match and whenever you shorten the overs - the ability of one individual to influence the outcome increases dramatically.

Paine's comments were more about adding some spice to the event and I certainly took them as tongue in cheek - instead we have hysteria from both sides of the fence.

Did he use the word 'cheating'...I can't actually find it. e might have meant it, but it was never said. Typical Eddie getting his nickers caught up. Not as if what Paine said was wrong...here is a massive difference between the Stars squad and the others, so it is fair to at least question it. I do think he could have used another medium rather than a press conference though
