Love his speed, strength, and pressure. Very hard at the contest, gets up and down the ground, and covers a lot of territory.
He's elite at really closing down players in space and creating an error, contest or turnover.
Very tough player too, loves to lay a big tackle.

Over the last few weeks he's starting to win more ball up the ground and this has been particularly evident and crucial in some final quarters.

If this has been a tactical move by McRae it's a very good one as his mix of speed and power through the centre of the ground (especially late in games) has caught the opposition flat footed.

Ginnivan to. Some of his work in transition has been very good.

Shame ‘tackle of the year’ nomination is not a thing.

Exactly

Pulling the jumper over his head and taking him down was such a humiliating move

Total domination, like in a combat sport

Saw Mark Williams tackle Michael Tuck at Victoria Park

Both were at the peak of their games

Williams' arms hit Tuck's ribs hard then bear-hugged him to the ground

Took the stuffing out of him, was one of the few things that could stop Tuck from running

One thing that made it particularly enthralling is that the effort exerted by McCreery was the minimum required to get the maximum impact. It was like watching a master craftsman at work.

10 minutes into the 2nd quarter Beau had the GWS backs looking over their shoulders.

Like ottoman in a Sydney road kebab shop at 3AM, Beau was the apex predator.

The look on Ward’s face afterwards was the best. ‘Shellshocked’ could describe it. Like ‘did that just happen to me?’.

Yep Callan, you were hit by the Beau train.

I'm just going to leave this here

If only he had a brother.
slap shot lovely followers GIF

Not just his strength, speed & agility but his attitude, seeing him fully sprint, what seems to be like 100 metres to put pressure on 3 different players in their possession chain (or from our miskick) is unteachable, you need players like McCreery and Maynard whom want to use their speed and strength to help the team by getting the ball back now with a tackle or pressure, or making them rethink or pull out of the next contest etc...

Hope he stays injury free and keeps up the good work!

There was a moment in the last quarter when Whitfield got it in a little bit of space about 80 out. Rather than looking forward to execute, he looked back to see how much space he had on the closing McCreery.

Yep, Lachie would prefer ASADA up his date than Beau

That’s exactly what we want to see. Make the opposition nervous, hesitate, second guess, play against instinct. Even a good footballer like Whitfield. It all adds up.

I hate it when our supporters call any of our players soft, but more than happy to label the opposition. Google "Whitfield soft". Over 4m hits can't be wrong.
