Yeah I’ve been calling him B TrainThe look on Ward’s face afterwards was the best. ‘Shellshocked’ could describe it. Like ‘did that just happen to me?’.
Yep Callan, you were hit by the Beau train.
LOL’d with just how dumb this was. Gold!
I need to new gif to recognise contributions of that calibre.
I'm just going to leave this here
You wouldn't want to play as a small defender against us. McCreery smashing you into the turf, whilst Ginnivan spends the day in your ear irritating the hell out of you until you lose the plot, belt him giving away a dumb free, a goal, suspended for two weeks and then he'll just keep on going, irritating you and trying to draw a 50.That's the Irish Jujitsu.
He laid a similar tackle earlier to another player.

Yeah I’ve been calling him B Train
My mate calls him BargearseYou’ve been hit by, you’ve been struck by, the smooth MCriminal.
Love it. Describe yourself as a footballer in one word
Tough
More of an Irish history I think.I don't think I'm the only one who things of a clan battle in the Scottish Highlands when they see Beau stalking a foe.
A few times when he's landed a tackle, I've shouted 'McCreery!' in my best (quite poor) Scottish accent.
I'd like to see some tartan in the cheer squad.
More of an Irish history I think.

The King of Ranga! Thanks jmac, I was hoping to claim Beau as one of ours, but this website has it both ways:
This Irish and Scottish surname of McCREERY was Anglicized from the Gaelic Mac RUAIDHRI, a baptismal name meaning 'the son of RUAIDHRI' (red king)

I like the ‘red king’ reference.

It depends if it's role related. If you take out the game where he was sub and didn't play, he's actually averaging similar possessions to our other full time forwards.
Who knows what he could do in another role.
He's one I'm surprised that they haven't discouraged the shepherd more than they have. With his pace, power and kicking skills, we'd be better off having him peel off to receive rather than shepherd.
I'm happy to back the coaches on that one, as it's just too hard to quantify. But I'm more just suggesting that even if you do go with lots of shepherding, ideally you've got Lipinski/Sidey/JDaicos shepherding for McCreery's damaging pace and power, rather than the other way around, which invariably seems to occur at the moment.Re the shepherd I'm of the opposite opinion and think it's under utilised at AFL level, he often buys his team mates good space and time to deliver when doing it.
Most team set up for the run and recieve very rarely does it end up and un pressured movement.

Good point in terms of shepherding for those blokes. The thing with McCreery though is if you're always shepherding, it's not pace that means you don't need a shepherd - it's that you haven't given an option and don't have the ball.Lipinski is a superb kick, even J Daicos is pretty good, so I’d be happy if those guys are more the designated kickers and the likes of Adams, Sidebottom, Ginnivan lay the shepherds to allow them to execute.
McCreery at his pace isn’t going to need someone to shepherd for him too often, maybe in finals as the intensity goes up.

I'm more just suggesting that I'd like him to shepherd less and peel off as option more, because I think he can become a really damaging play maker. He's got the power to get separation and is a lovely kick.
If he played higher up the field, he'd get more contested possessions, but he's not going to get more uncontested possessions unless he changes his style and looks to find space and receive more often rather than always looking to block.Agree with the gist of it, the only question on McCreery is can he lift his disposal numbers if given the opportunity.
