hermans is no big loss with his attitude of last year the real loss will be oliver but they have picked up a couple from melton south who will replace both of them and a couple of boys from st marys who will replace the other two going with him to lorne

Who are the few from St Marys? i know one of them isnt matt madden who is goin overseas halfway through the year

On what basis would the VCFL tell the club that they can't continue?

If the club is solvent then the club will continue to operate provided it can meet the leagues criteria for participation, namely field the teams that the league constitution says are compulsory and meet any other criteria necessary.

There are clubs going around country vic that are performing significantly worse than Newcomb (try Huntly FC for a start 39 straight losses, 8 consecutive spoons) and they are under no threat of expulsion because as stated above they meet the leagues operating minimum.

It is inevitable that clubs in this region will disapear but lets not push them to extinction because once they are gone they will never return.
you answered your own question drago they are not solvent and are in breach of league criteria ie.no juniors. they have guidelines they have to meet this year or they are gone.

yeah it is, at least newcomb have some silverware to prove it unlike port who have nothing
interesting when the money runs out, all the recruits nick off. junior development is the way to go. how can clubs stop the likes of st albans & modewarre poaching players just out of juniors, have been doing it for years. clubs spend money and time to get these kids right, and these bloodsuckers offer them huge money. football geelong, instead of trying to have u 18 divisions, put in a rule that players out of juniors should have to stay with their club for a few years. whats everyones thoughts?

Got to agree that the whole clearance and appeals for clearances needs some reform or some persons who are prepared not to buy the bullsh*t excuses for changing clubs, when a player says "If I am not cleared I will sit out of footy for the year or go interestate", call their bluff!

im pretty sure they changed it last year, and the only thing stopping players from leaving and moving to another club is if they owe the club money, have a club jumper etc etc. So they can basically leave a club and the club cant stop them. Not sure if this is exactly right but its something like this. O

Thats correct mate. i think its the best way if a player wants 2 leave let them go. I would not like 2 play with someone that dosen't want 2 b there.

This is the type of attitude that best represents todays 18-30 yo's, no sense of responsibility or duty to anything , not just in footy terms! Too easy to walk away when it gets too tough, too hard! All told from a young age that they are winners, in most cases told they are better than they really are. A result of school sports where everyone is a winner, no ribbons for 1st , 2nd or 3rd!. St Kilda Football Club is a good example, all top 10 draft picks that have never had to face adversity in football terms, hence the tears from reiwolt and co. The strong footy clubs have a culture where hard work is respected and when a player consistently shows that they are fairdinkum in a team sense they get aknowledgment. I might be wrong but I think North Shores success through the 90's was with player payments that reflected service to the club, eg when you hit 50 games you got $50 per game, 100 got $100 per game and 200 got $200. Maybe I am the one that has got it all wrong and should wake up and realise that we have BFL/GDFL and GFL players out there that are soo professional in their footy deserve to get whatever they want!

What does stkilda have 2 do about local football clearences. I am saying why would you want somone at your football club that dosen't want 2 b there. It is weak by the player to leave if your club is unsuccesful but in the long run it gives a young player the chance 2 play senior football that wants 2 be at the club

when recruiting you need to be very cautious about players who have several clubs on their cv.they wont be around for long will bleed you dry and move on .players re locating ,seeking better opportunities or playing higher standard are the better options.clearances are automatic now unless $ owed .
