The statistics show that even after treatment form these super drug rehabilitation centres, many relapse.

Cousins has had enough emotional trauma just late for him to relapse.

Has the world lost its common sense. Have people decided to be mentally slack and make stupid assesments.

It is obvious that Ben Cousins needs psychological help. What he is doing is non-sensical - but under extreme duress.
This must be completely an issue with the EAGLES and BEN COUSINS alone.

Ben Cousins’ problem IS

When he goes to U.S.A he will get excellent treatment.

When he comes back – he will again be surrounded by the same bad crowd toying with his mind – tempting him.

It could almost be a game for these ********s to toy with whats good for Ben.

On top of that he has the parasitic MEDIA surrounding him sucking on his disasters him like humans suck on oxygen to live.

He was just about to go to Malibu again at the end of the weekend.

People don’t realise that taking a drug is as easy as taking candy from a baby.

One can do all the correct things constantly and in a few seconds all is unravelled.

Its like training your guts out for years, build a football carreer and in a second you have your leg broken badly.

Ben is clearly in REHAB still and has had a relapse, and that is how it must be treated.

If he has been surrounded again by the eveil doo-ers who know that they must not tempt him, these evil-dooers are a disgrace

Im sorry, as brilliant as this guy is, he should be de-registered by the AFL. He has brought nothing but heartache and shame to West Coast in the last 12 months (and even longer). Champion or no champion, he has stuffed up one time too many.

Sorry but I can't condone keeping him - he must be sacked. After saying that though he is one sick puppy (even if it is at his doing) and needs help.

This is an opportunity for the AFL and Eagles to practice the line they preach in that they look after their players welfare (where they have failed in the past).

Sack him and as such neither the Eagles or AFL get any more millage/ benefit from him (premierships, etc) but then committ both cost and resources to help him become a functioning human being again (ignore the fact he will never again be a top flight footballer).

By doing this you also put yourself in a position where you can wield the hard stcik at all clubs and send the message that drugs won't be tolerated.

People who believe that it is possible to rehab a drug addict inside an environment of constant adulation, media, money, glam, women etc are kidding themselves. The AFL is the last place for someone to attempt drug rehabilitation.

Cousins needs to be removed from the AFL and rehabilitated outside the AFL, and within an environment of support and "tough love". His family and professional help would be a good start.

He does need to be deregistered he has had too many chances.
THe AFL and the eagles do have a responsibilty to him though to actually look after him and rehabilitate him or at least try.
Only thing is if he is found guilty he won't be going back to the states they don't let convicted drug takers into the country

No, simply the Eagles can not afford to keep him on the list anymore.

As said Ben needs to get himself sorted out and he needs to do that as a member of the public with family and friends support. Adulation and being a star footballer has proven it does not work.

Problem is I don't really believe he wants to get clean. He enjoys the rock 'n' roll lifestyle he has lead for the last ten years and has no intention of really giving it up.

He was caught out last year and was sent to rehab. He would not have gone on his own accord, he was basically forced into it by family, club and AFL. He did this only to check all the boxes necessary to enable him to play footy again... he never thought he had a problem.

He's played everyone for fools. His behaviour has been consistent throughout his entire footy career and he needs to go.

A lot of people put their necks on the line for him and he has betrayed them... flipped them the metaphorical bird. Didn't deserve another chance at the beginning of the year, definitely doesn't deserve one now.

Maybe losing something he loves and losing his large income will turn him around. Don't hold your breath though... his selfishness and sociopathic behaviour will win out in the end.

The game is better off without Ben playing.

But sorry this is professional sport... illicit drugs can produce some performance enhancement...

think about the other couple hundred players running around on match day thinking geez... this guy keeps getting a game because he's Ben Cousin's and he could be on something right now for all we know.

It's not fair to Ben, WCE, and all AFL lovers... if WCE are serious ask the AFL for special consideration to keep him on the list next year as a rookie (like Essendon did with Rama) and promise not to play him at all next year, then if he has a good 18 months till season 2009 and he's stayed clean they can put him on the senior list again and play him.

Yeah I'd be surprised if any club would risk picking him up, would be a huge risk with sponsors,etc if he ever got in trouble again. His profile is so huge now that he'd be a walking headline wherever he played.
