Ben Lennon still keen to stay at Richmond

Except first this year would have finished 7th last year and North's percentage is higher than Richmond's last year. Even year and no clear cut standout.
My god you are delusional !!

If you seriously believe the rubbish you post then you really need help - This year has been a more competitive year with the teams getting closer just about any team apart from bottom 4 can beat any other team.

If you cant read the ladder properly then you should give up following football sunshine

Firstly people talking up Conca should go and carefully watch the vfl GF as again he made two howlers under little pressure which resulted in goals.
Also his injury woes at the elite level with our game plan only tells me his body won’t stand up.
Ben Lennon being discussed as still being on our list must be a joke.

A fit Conca has huge upside. He is best 22 when fit. Great position to be in when you look at guys like Cellis, Menadue, Markov, Short, Son of Naish, 2 first rounders and nobody over 30.
NOT to mention garthwaite, stengle and possibly picking up young Maurice jr at some stage...fudgin hell what a powerhouse we could become...

If Lennon was any good, he would have played multiple games during the year and played Saturday - end of story.
Yes it was just his fourth year, but we had guys like Rioli and Castagna in their second year, Graham in his first, Butler in his third and blokes like Stengle and Bolton who just played their first and will likely be regulars next season in their second.
Yes, he's just a fourth year player and we said that when Griffiths and Elton were fourth years to the point they are sixth and seventh year and never got any better. Move on!

The senior players that played in the VFL GF were the "old" Richmond.

If we are up and about next year I can't see us going back to the well with Conca, Lennon, Batch and Griffo. Depth at very best.

Batch is the only bloke I would keep out of that lot , but he would be the most likely to leave based on opportunity. Conca and Griffo are physically unreliable
and don’t have much upside to add to our game plan. Lennon I would call up the Northern Blues to see if they could trade him for a vfl player on their list that could assist our vfl side better. He’s so far back it’s not a laughing matter anymore.

Griffo and Conca are contracted to the end of 2018 so unless someone else wants them or they want out then they will stay with us. I doubt we would be prepared to just delist them. Lennon and Batch are out of contract this year.

Told he won't be offered a new contract.

Would be happy with Lennon for pick 76.
Given the accuracy of information coming from Norf fans this year, Lennon about to sign a 4-5 year deal worth $4-5mil

We'll keep most players and take minimum picks this year. After about pick 30 it's rough going. So I reckon Lennon will be fine. maric and Yarran gone + 1 other.

This would be a massive massive mistake IMO.

As premiers we are as attractive a destination as we are going to be. We have 2 first round picks in this years draft which for a premiership team is just about unheard of. We need to be aggressive and try and improve our list which does have holes in it. The very worst thing we can do is think that our list will be good enough next year and find teams improve 10% and we get left behind like the Bulldogs.

As they say in business, when things are going well and you are at the top of your game is the time to work even harder and smarter and cement your place in the top 4 for years to come.

Go Tigers.

There's no room for complacency, you win a flag and you become the hunted. It's difficult to keep winning flags with exactly the same game plan and players. There is a good feel at Richmond and players from other clubs would certainly find that attractive, add in that our premiership window is open and we are in our best ever position to recruit quality players (Salary cap permitting). Someone calling himself Adam from Collingwood keeps enquiring about coming over but I have to keep telling him he might upset team balance.

The RFC Premiers and a destination club are words I would never thought would ever apply to us. I agree with you here that we need to make hay while the sun shines and not become complacent relying on stability.
The Bulldogs come first to mind, but at the same time not become stupid and trade in hacks like Cloke.

It's a weak competition atm

Actually the strongest the competition has been in ages, any of 15 teams could have made finals. A more even competition means it is much harder, having 1 or 2 stand out teams every year doesn't make the competition strong.

Exactly
Port will get Rockcliff (Not to mention Lions will get pick 2 or 18) and maybe Motlop
Bombers/Cats get Stringer
Dees get Lever
Hawks and Saints are into Gaff
Devon Smith could go to Cats/Bombers/Blues/Pies/Saints
Freo get Wilson
Norf get no one

Yeah some of these might not work out and they might lose something the other way but for most clubs this an upgrade in talent and the comp and all these teams will be there abouts again given how close the comp is.

We don't appear to be linked with anyone yet, so I suspect we'll go to the well. Naish seems to be a lock. Our imports in the GF side were Nank, Prestia, Caddy, Grigg, Townsend and some might make a case for Houli but reckon he's more home grown. Three of them arrived for 2017. Think we would definitely trade for a key forward if one became available, for as good as the small forwards have been, I took it from Dimma's interview on Fox we will be modifying that somewhat for 2018. With what has been achieved with Butler, Townsend, Macca and Lambert, I must admit to being a bit worried we'll give Lennon more time at the bequest of Leppa.:(

Ricky Nixon has promised a big announcement on the podcast later this week when he talks to michaels about trade week and his experience with the AFL, he has obviously heard we are into someone
