So obviously we lost Ben really early tonight, the commentators said that it was a quad injury, but did anyone who might have been listening on the radio get any more info? Very, very shattered when it happened, after the season he has had the thought of him missing finals is gut wrenching.

Amazing that we played with a man down the entire game basically, and didn't Ben look so good early when he got it too.

Worrying that he went down without contact.

He was up and about in his trackies though, and walking without crutches, so maybe it's just a standard quad strain.

The hope would be Reid returning for one "warm up" game before the finals, but there is every chance that if we win our first final, we may not see Ben till prelim weekend.

It gives Nathan Brown a huge chance to basically make himself "undroppable", in a team that is equal favourites to win a flag.

Get well Reid, you have been awesome.

And how well did we cope with his absence, we struggled in the 2nd quarter down back, but after half time Maxwell and the "crew" down back turned the game on its heels.

My immediate thought was that Goldsack is now undroppable.

NJ Brown is a different cat, he's more of an interchangeable part for Presti in terms of gamestyle.

In the first 5 minutes, I knew he was going to play his guts out.

Really knows that his spot is up for grabs and shows he really wants to play finals footy. I think that's the reason for our success, the determination to be there in September.

Well we have the bombers and the crows and we was probs due for a rest, just bring in Nathan Brown its as simple as that.

Le Sack played an amazing game tonight, and if he hasn't cemented his place in the team then I honestly don't know what else he can do. As for Benji, was good to see him wandering around, but I'm bitterly disappointed he couldn't play further part in such a huge game. Would have been great practice.

doubt he'll be replaced by Brown.

More likely Blair or Medhurst, we played 7 defenders tonight before Reid went down

I'm with you Thommo. Medhurst should get his chance to come in.

The way the MRP is going, Leroy will probably get weeks for his attempted trip on Ducker Selwood I think it was. Which means Josh would get his 200th.

totally agree! Reid is in our best 22 easily. Don't know if brown is.. but im sure blair is. We almost had the situation where all 5 defenders were in our best 22 so thats why we played all of them. Now we have 4 its still more than ample.
presti. max. harry. goldy

Hopefully he gets back before finals. He's been fantastic this year, if we play in the granny he deserves to be in the side.

Great win considering we lost this bloke so early. His importance has been huge.

Our backline is amazing.

I'd bring in a midfielder/small forward to replace Reid and let Goldsack/Maxwell take key position for the next few weeks. Its pointless bringing Brown in, he's not part of our plans for September.

We need to use this vacancy to bring in somebody capable of replacing Davis should we be forced to drop him. Dont know who that person should be but I'd be looking at McCarthy, Lockyer, Rounds, Blair and Medhurst. Preferably Medders.

Given the way we preserved Wellingham I'm wondering its a fairly minor injury that Reid could recover from over the week. Could it be that the club benched him because its not willing to take a chance so close to finals? Can't be too bad if he's not on crutches.
