Seems to be all quiet in the B&D thread.
The weather looks good for tomorro's games, but whats the story with the Shepp news picking Swanpool to beat Longwood surely must be a misprint. :D

Are you sure it wasnt "kiss of death" tipping in the shepp news on that game?

Very quiet on the thread, vastly different from last week. Hope our boys have their heads screwed on and bring their game tomorrow.

Went and saw Longwood play yeterday, Longwood won by 6 goals. Swanpool were not as bad as everyone has been saying, kicking the first 3 goals of the game. Have some handy players, but were just not good enough yesterday.

I watched Longwood V Swanny game on the weekend and was VERY surprised to see Swanny clapped and cheered off the ground after they lost by 6 goals by their supporters. Whilst there is no issue with sticking together in hard times, it appears a little complacent to be doing this. Yes they tried and yes they did perform OK against the top team but seriously this looks very ordinary. Culture in a club is paramount and this is not something Swanny supporters would want to do on regular basis.
 
Good win by Goorambat over Tatong, whats the story from the game?
Have Longwood and Goorambat caught up to them or have they droped off the pace?
From this weeks results it would be hard to pick a favorite for the flag now.
Longwood vs Bonnie Doon should be an interesting game this week.
Any thought's on the footy or do we only get on here to bag other clubs and players.

I would be very interested in the thoughts for next year, obviously to the people involved in the clubs the teams are strong but without juniors where can they go.
Personally I can't see teams staying strong in a 5 team comp after this year. Tatong say they will with their 100 years coming up but will that be enough to keep quality players in a depleted league.
Something needs to be done to keep these clubs going and it more than likley needs to be done now, theres not enough time between seasons if the five clubs are seriouse about the long term future of themselves or the league.
Any thoughts from within the league or am I barking up the wrong tree. :D

RD - Get Yea, Murchison and another team struggling in current league. KDFL is like cats pi s s at the moment- all over the shop with their results. Once you have 8 teams you may need to introduce juniors in under 17? to attract the right clubs. Juniors in any league will be a key to moving the clubs either into or out off any league. I think a few in the KDFL would join if juniors had a game each week. There may be a few clubs who would move from the NTH EAST Victoria/ STH NSW league know as Picola League.

How long do you give the league if they cannot attract any teams? and what has the BDFL done in talking to potential clubs so far this year?

Not enough kids around to supply the needs of clubs and leagues around the area.
Heard at the weekend of 1 club looking elsewhere . No I wont name the club involved.
Rationalisation will be the only long term solution unless 100 pimply faced 17 year olds pop out of the woodwork.

Agree with you %100 GG. As most of you blokes well no i have been involved in a few losses of late, and no matter how gallant the effort is there is nothing worse than been clapped off after a loss - be it by 1 point or 100 even against the premiership favourites,it shows weakness and an acceptance of 2nd best. Swanny blokes should be dissapointed with that.
 
Were are all the tatong boys gone from here they have been very quiet the last couple of weeks maybe just all full of yap with no bite to back it up.Might need to go and buy a couple more players to top up again.
 
Hi I'm an old mate that used to play for tatong. How are they going this year. Does anyone know Chris Lindsay (LIDDA) How is that bloke going?

lidda is playing some good footy this yr mate. he hasnt missed a beat, its good too see him having a crack, his the heart and soul of the tatong footy club. good bloke!

2 big names?? you mean letter wise big names? coz there are not any good players out there as we proved on the weekend.there are a few big blokes out there like that fat red haired guy on the coaching staff that always offers me money or the bloke they call the carp:D

Three teams would be good, four more would be ideal. 9 team leagues function just as well as 10, in that you can play everyone twice in 18 rounds, with 9 teams you get the bonus of a bye, which I know the older players enjoy!

Lets not go there uncle, everyone who knows rick or has anything to do with him know he is one of the best blokes going around.
As far as Rick and the Tatong Football Netball Club go, rick in my eyes is the most respected bloke involved. I can't sit hear and read your post and not stick up for him. Very silly post Uncle. If you have a problem with rick i think you should sort it out in private rather than bring it on here.

Hey old mate, its been a while! I see you have found some form for your new club, listed in the best the last few weeks. What pos they got you playing? Tat started the season well, but have come up short the last 2 weeks. Will enjoy the bye this weekend. Speaking of your new club i see you guys have a bye on the 23rd June. We are away to Longwood that day, what are the chances of getting you a permit for that match, i take it you will be up home for Stiff's 21st anyway?
