Well thats going to make a lot of difference. Jobs for the boys. AFL VIC and BFL board might as well be one.

Your opinions are as valid as anyone's on interleague and the BFNL's health. My opinion is that for someone to wish a belting on a group of young blokes willing to test themselves against very strong opposition is an ordinary way to think.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and these times are desperate indeed.

why is 3ccc not broadcasting interleague game

They couldn’t make Gisborne last week so not much chance they would get to Melbourne.

Was starting to wonder whether the league manager job was still waiting to be filled. The passage of time does that. So the previous league manager (CT) stepped up to acting regional manager role in October last year and stayed acting until commencement of 2024 season when finally given the permanent job. And with possibly the biggest crisis unfolding in leagues recent history they were relying on a bloke to do both regional manager job and league manager job. I honestly feel sorry for CT to a degree. The buck stops with board. It’s close to their biggest and most important decision they make. Getting someone to run the show. Why on earth they weren’t looking outside the AFL loop beggars belief when there is ample evidence to say independent, self administration is getting good results elsewhere.

Went and had a look today.

Wasn’t a great standard of footy, small ground and both defences dominated most of the day.

Didn’t do anything to change my mind that interleague is done, small crowd and the atmosphere was more like a pre season game.

Perhaps I was spoilt by being involved in the halcyon days of the 80s when interleague was a genuine pinnacle but whatever today cost I would rather see taken off kids registrations and I think the game would get more out of it as well.

You've got to be kidding. There was nothing negative about yesterday. Standard was incredibly high and the way the guys played indicated they loved interleague. If football makes you this unhappy all the time maybe play golf?

In the 1980s, we'd be saying that result was very reasonable considering that fact that you would have been playing the A Section VAFA players instead of B Section and below.

Regarding yesterday's game, you need to consider the fact that the match was played against a team that none of which would make the best team that the VAFA would put out.

We can conclude that while Bendigo footy could be compared with VAFA A Section 40 years ago, unfortunately it is closer to B Section today.
