Too late to tell Broadford no…they are accepted. They may still not get up and running but the league can’t tell them no
yeah well make it work! They do whatever they want already. Do some good for once I say. I understand this won't happen but its what I'd be doing. Maybe AFLCV should help broadford get into KDFNL or somewhere, anywhere else

It’s dumb luck that Moama has potentially fallen into the BFNL lap. But as mentioned it opens up so many possibilities north. Are those in charge capable of making it happen? We’re about to find out. Both the BFNL and GV have almost identical off field set ups. Must be said Moama are leaving one of best run comps in state.

I think it's more holding onto their juniors to reduce their travel back and help recruit too, they might get a few more echuca boys

Why would a team that has been so successful in the GV want to go to a league who's standard of football has fallen so dramatically.
Makes no sense.🤷‍♂️
The gv has dropped too and I think echuca probably have more kids go to work and uni in Bendigo and Melbourne.

I don't think their will be any leagues in 5 years as they were

The thing about Echuca is that they are a side made up of locals working in town. Part of their success has been the number of players that live and work in the town. This ensures that anyone that does go to Uni or works in Melbourne is keen to come back and play with their mates. Echuca will never return to the Bendigo League and if the Moama board had any sense then they would be looking at joining the GV. If they joined the Bendigo league then they haven't really left the Murray League to better the standard of footy.

Agree with a lot of this but have to say that Sandhurst, Gisborne and Strathfieldsaye are a level above the top end of the Murray league old mate

On a lighter note, what jumper should Moama wear when they join the BFL in 2026?

I'm thinking Freo chevrons in purple or GWS orange jumper with a Big M.

There's a big big sound north of the river!

Why would they need to change? Reversible jumpers are an easy thing these days. Just have an alternate design and turn them inside out when playing Castlemaine.

There has recently been enough tension within the KDFNL ( with AFLVic and in particular AFLGM ) to avoid AFLVic forcing Broadford into the comp .
