You're trying to tell me this man doesn't have the ball handling skills to play in the midfield?

That's a highlights package - ergo it shows the good and not the not so good

He very rarely takes a ground ball with one touch - he usually needs a fe grabs at it and fumbles a bit

For all of the faults of the much maligned priddis - he is a midfielder in that it's one touch - he grabs the ball and goes.

Thats because he's going so slow he is virtually standing still.. ;)

Yeah, I think he'll flourish at East Perth in much the same way as Lycett has.

Some people are not a fan of the East Perth/West Coast thing but i really think you will see our depth improve once all players are all devolving as a team. Wilson and Lycett are 2 examples of players who were very average at their original clubs.

You're going to sit there and say Murray Newman was the best draft pick choice for us?

You don't even know I'm sitting, fool.

I think that's a weird thing to say because it's irrelevant to what I responded to. There's a fairly big range between being a spud and being the best player available at the pick.

However I'm prepared to answer your question, and say that on talent Newman was a more than acceptable selection at #23. I'd say he's better than Ben Kennedy who went in the first round of the next year. He's supremely talented.

Obviously his off-field issues change things. But at the time we did very well out of that draft and if he comes good with this GBH case I think we'll be big winners.

Not so much. Wilson always showed a bit for Peel. Lycett's improvement was more a natural one related to the fact he only just turned 21 last month.

I think not having KPP in shit teams can only be a good thing though

No, we have McInnes and McGovern who can play CHF and Kennedy and Cox/ Naitanui / Lycett in the goal square.

We really don't need another KP forward in this draft.
I agree given that we also have Mc Govern, Coledge and Tunbridge who can all play KP but it is interesting that at the biginning of 2013 we hsared the honour with Carlton of having the least number of players over 190cm.

On the question of Darlin playing mid I keep thinking back to Pavlich playing there. No question he could do it but was far more valuable as a forward target. I see Darling as a bit the same.

We need to put games into McInnes, McGovern and Tunbridge next year to find out if they can play AFL or not. If they spend the whole season in the WAFL again, they might end up becoming list cloggers.
I hope we also get some indication of whether Colledge is good player or not as well since it's difficult to judge as yet.
If Bennell isn't able to crack into the team, I can see him getting delisted like many other upgraded rookies. I hope that he is able to get a game ahead of Smith. Would like him to be tried as a forward as well, like he was at Melbourne.

Waters Mckenzie Glass
Hurn Schofield Yeo

Masten Priddis Wellingham

Lecra Darling -
Hill Kennedy Cox

Natanui Selwood Shuey

Gaff Rosa -
-

That's who I would consider almost certain best 22 next year. I wouldn't use waters as a defensive forward, he's too talented for that, and it's a perfect position for a youngster income in and fill.

What are your guys expectations for next year? A fit Natanui is so crucial to you guys fr the compound effect of Cox being used forward more and allowing Darling to play more of a roaming 3rd tall. With Nata fit and a softer draw is top 4 out of the equation?

Here is my best 22, going with What Simmo said about dual role players

Carter, McKenzie, Glass
Yeo, Brown, Hurn
Rosa, Scooter, Gaff
Shuey, Darling, Ellis
LeCras, Kennedy, Cox

NicNat, Priddis, Wellingham

Int: Schofield, Hutchings, Pick 11 Sub: Waters
Emg/Next in line: McGovern, Bennell, Butler, Cripps, Hill

This team has Yeo, Hurn, Rosa, Gaff, Schofiled and Ellis who can all play HBF or move up onto the wing or even HFF. Waters would be a great sub with his run on the wings and to throw himself around.
If a team plays a bit smaller FWD then Brown comes out and Bennell or Cripps come in for more run.

You don't rate Masten then...

FB: Waters Mackenzie Glass
HB: Hurn Brown Yeo
C: Rosa Priddis Gaff
HF: Masten Darling Shuey
FF: LeCras Kennedy Hill

R: Naitanui, S. Selwood, Wellingham
IC: Cox, Schofield, Cripps SUB: Hutchings

Waters will be injured all the time so I guess you can replace Waters with Schofield, put Hutchings on the bench and give ... Sheppard the sub vest?

Depth is poo.

Nice team. If we draft Sheed or Acres we can add them in the Best 21 bumping Cripps to the sub role (which he is great at).

If Waters isnt fully fit and playing every week without spraying the footy then he shouldnt be in the team. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to get fit and see what he can do but if not i'd prefer developing someone else in the back pocket like Carter/Bennell and get more mids on the bench who are versatile enough to play back if needed due to injury.
