It's almost as if they haven't learned one thing from this year's debacle.

JK will be 27yo by the start of 2022.

or someone is just making shit up....

They’ve signed up Grundy, Moore, JDG and Daicos for next year on much bigger deals

Try again
And remember for next year a whole lot of blokes have been cut apart from those traded. The biggest question is how close are other clubs to exceeding the cap with the sort of names many of the top clubs have. You cannot think that most of those are playing for peanuts.

Somebody is claiming Stevo played up out at a pub one night and that justifies the club getting rid of him for nothing, others who've seen the alleged incident say its nothing compared to what Swan, Didak, Tarrant etc used to get up to.

But it's funny cos you've got some Collingwood supporters acting like LWNJ and blaming the media for hating Collingwood, yet then people claim Stevo did something so bad he's worth getting rid of and the Collingwood hating media never said a thing? Smells like bullshit to me.
Was not popular with the group, one teammate who was living with him severed the connection. Club aware of dodgy mates. Screamed the hub down and kept a messy room in all the hubs and hotels. Seems farking trivial really. Some rumours though of clashes with assistant coaches. Raises a bit of a red flag that no other club interested in him methinks. Some would have had the cap space.

Most would have cap space but considering the money he’s already on and not being worth it, it wouldn’t be worth asking him to accept a hell of a lot less on his next contract

Maynard is mates with some of the biggest dropkicks in Melbourne but he always gives 100% on the field and on the track and is respectful of his team mates and coaches, so there was a lot less patrolling of him off field than there was for Stevo
Goes to show, it's not particularly difficult to get the coaches off your back

I think a big issue the Pies has was who was getting the big bucks as well.

Those bloated contracts are normally for the stars of the competition but to have guys Stephenson/Cox/Mayne etc on over half a million and Trealor close to a million have skewed their calculations.

Jake Kelly will be a pie next year hence the fire sale
FTFY

But hey they both start with J so well done you

Same as the Crows with their long term contracts - sure its nice for stability but it makes list decisions interesting

Selling the club to Edelstein and expecting the books to add up probably wasn't the smartest idea.

Doesn't mean we were the only ones cheating, we were just dumb enough to get caught

Lots of clubs got done in the mid-late 80's, when the cap wasn't as rigidly enforced....

If the soft cap was around back then would Geoffrey's pink lambo be counted.

Stupid move if they do get him, one of the most overrated players in the comp.
at similar values its a close race with Tim Kelly for that title
