Good veiws agree, never hear anything positive about the Jets. And the bit on Bull is spot on and he has people helping him go in the right direction like Johnny P, maybe there is a future Senior job along side Jason Clarke and Ellis there to help with the seniors and importantly the juniors coming into the difficult transion

Whilst I am no supporter of the current set up of the jets, I am a supporter of the under 18 concept. Whether it be at the elite level or at club level there has to be a vehicle for blokes to aid the transistion from juinors to seniors. The career path at the jets is obvious, equally important is the vehicle at club level. As we have aknowledged the correct coach can make all the difference. Having support staff at any level is aways a given and at club level is a bonus. The success at the colts this year at both senior and under 18 level is a result of good coaches at both levels. The under 18's in praticular have had good coaches that have worked hard for the CLUB over the last few years, the ultimate reward for that hard work is now on show ( lets hope it continues for so time to come )

Who were the previous coaches, is cooper still involved at the colts.

a few games ago a jets young gun by the name of Luke Kyriakedis ( sorry about the spelling if it aint right) was just starting to make a name for himself down at brookside oval but he tore ligaments in his ankle which was a bit sad for the kid as he was starting to hit his straps. The kid has the footy smarts and has pretty good skill on both feet which is a bonus, he just loves controlling the game from the back half a bit like quater back. I have heard he is still a few weeks a way which is a big bonus for the colts and the up coming teams playing willy because they would nearly have to tag him when he is playing in the backline because he is that damaging.
i cant speak any higher of the kid because he is all for the team and not for himself and would sacrafise his game for the team to get over the line. I believe this kid should be a walk up start for the jets next year when he is fully fit and if you never know the boy could go all the way if he is dedicated he has what it takes
Also once he has had a couple of games at willy he will be back at the jets in no time
Any thoughts on the young gun?

In reverse order Perkins, Booth , Copper, Cooper

Dean Cooper is still involved, being an assistant coach to both the reserves and seniors in between being a first time dad:p

Yeah I actually know Lukey, and he is a quality player and bloke, one of the nicest kids you'll meet. Great player, but hasnt had an opportunity at Jets level yet so we will have to wait and see how he goes there before saying he'll go all the way. Excellent half back player, provides plenty of run, wins the ball and beats his opponent.

He is one of the few Willy boys missing this week which will no doubt help the Colts out.

yeh kegs maybe i got a bit excited saying that he will go all the way but i just cant speak highly enough of this kid he is a quality player and when he gets his chance he will show us all what he is made off.

Great Legends of Port Melb Colts all of them and great servants of coaching the club, you have great views once again. You seem to know alot about people down the Colts and the club any chance you are from there or have been, if not what club are you from or follow

Geez sounds like there a lot of lengends down there. They have been a strong club for a long long time. Let me tell u they were a very tough conbination through the 70s and 80s.

Agree 100 % If and when my boys are in a posistion to play the next level of footy I will defenit;y not steer them in the jet direction, kids from colts should work in some sort of deal with Port, kids from other areas encourage your folks to shift out of the area. The jets have never been structured correctly since the days of their inception. Originally based at the show grounds they had resonable success, once the splitt occured ( Calder Cannons formed )the jets have been a rudderless ship moving base a couple of times and appionting coaches that are more interested in their own well being as opposed to the kids they are supposed to be developing.
Great call mate. You are spot on. We have all watched enough footy to spot a kid with talent who deserves a game or atleast a chance to prove himself in a higher standard but is denied .
What about kids that come from comission areas how many of those kids get a look in at the jets or the dragons ?
These kids whos parents are battlers and who live and breathe footy every minute of the day and dominate for there club on a sunday(we have all seen plenty of them)dont even get an invitation to train.
I would love to know how many kids who play in the tac u18 league go to private schools ?as opposed to those kids who have had a more modest upbringing.
Football ,like sport in general is a thing that once you cross that line nothingelse in your life matters ,except your ability to play the game.Everyones an equal on the footy ground doesnt matter where you come from that footy can belong to anyone.
Maybe a few of these scouts will keep that in mind the next time they pencil a kids name in there book or send invitations to preseason.

Spot on just think how many people out there played with gun players as juniors but didnt get a go because of there situation or didnt sell enough raffle tickets or there parents werent in the mix with the high rackie, they only get a short space of time to get drafted and its that two year period thats so important and if your not liked then it makes unbelivble hard to go to a higher level, kids have to go interstate to stand out because guns are a dime a dozen in the VFL. Its unfair the system sometimes like your Daveys and Lovetts just name a few why and how do they get passed up firstly.

Went down to the game, willi were good all day considering they had around 8 regular a players out. they won by about 9 goals and port colts didn't really look like having the game won all day.

On current form i think the team port colts are capable of beating are St Albans, Albion and Hoppers on a bad day. Altona and Port are toss of a coin, Altona on a good day will beat them, but they are a very unpredicatable team, Werribee and Spotswood will eat Port just like willi did.
