I’d say it’s part punishment to QLD for getting further into bed with the TAB, and part warning to the other states that they better not contemplate going to 20%. They seem like minor things but they will have a huge impact on turnover.

I know there’s self interest in it from these two but both can actually absorb the extra POCT, it will just hurt profits. Just about every other operator would really struggle at 20% nationally though so Sportsbet taking this kind of action helps their competitors probably more than even themselves.

I believe it resulted in some corps signing individual race field agreements at a reduced rate in SA. I also wouldn’t be looking to SA as a healthy racing jurisdiction to base themselves on.

they have probably taken the most expensive betmakers product which means they don't do any of the trading and are simply marketing their name. Therefore if you have been limited at other betmaker sites than you are probably automatically referred to intercept.
