Gambling amendment bill passed in parliament the other day banning all non local licensed sites. Presuming pinnacle will be gone for us within the next month?

Does that mean we won't be able to bet with the likes of Paddy Power from Oz anymore?

Here is a new one.

I just received an e-mail from Madbookie saying I am ineligible for promotions.

This is on the basis that 50% or more of my bets are on a promotions market.

Here is the catch:
They have a promotion for every H2H AFL match (Receive a free bonus bet if your team is leading at 3/4 time and loses).

I'm sure like most of you that bet on the AFL, you either bet H2H or the line.

I would understand if they had a promotion on one game a week and the customer only bets on that game and nothing else.

However, why does a customer get punished because the bookie has a promotion that covers the main betting market in a sport?

In any event, this promotion ends in 2 weeks and really its just another bookmaker being a bookmaker.

This is the same mob that advertises:

How did we come about?
We recognised the normal Aussie punter wants more than they're currently getting from the mass-market UK owned bookmakers - and here we are!

Do Paddy Power even let Aussies join up now? I seem to remember trying to join them awhile ago and AUS wasn't an option

I joined when I lived in the UK and it was the only website that I could still access from oz out of the UK bookies

I certainly hope not, it's the only betting account I use these days. By far the best odds for tennis and soccer and obviously the live betting is the best when you factor in NBA and college football/NFL.

How would they stop us from using Pinnacle? I remember reading about banks blocking payments from offshore gambling sites but when I've received $$$ I've withdrawn from Pinnacle it shows a strange company putting the money in. Banks might have no idea it's from them.

Pinnacle will likely close Australian accounts themselves like they did to Americans when they were no longer allowed to be there
