These two blokes have been very good so far this year. Finally seeing Roosy's belief in them paying off. A very pleasing surprise don't you think.

I still wasn't overly impressed with Bevan last night to be honest. I reckon when the pressure is really applied he's still going to struggle with his decision making but I'm happy for Roos to give him plenty more chances. There's no point in just giving up on a player that we have put so much effort into developing.

On McVeigh...... He's a GUN. As I said above with Bevan, it's all about giving these kids a chance to develop and learn from their mistakes as Roos has done with persisting with McVeigh. I know he was frustrating to watch at times but if Roos had listened to what most Swans fans wanted and dropped him last year then I don't think we'd be seeing the kind of performances he's putting in at the moment.

Settle down!

Last night he was allowed to run free pretty much all night. His disposal was 50/50. I agreed 110% he has improved, but as I have said before he has taken Fosdikes position in the team.

Don't get me wrong, this position is important, but it is only required to be a reasonable player.

I hope he continues his good form.

I agree on McVeigh. He still has a long way to go but the improvement from last year has been amazing. I've been very impressed.

Not so much with Inspo though. Personally i think he's been as ordinary as last year.

McV will continue to develop into a far better player than Fozzy has ever been, guaranteed. We lose nothing by not having Fosdike on the ground, tho he can hold is own in most cases. He will however, make good trade bait for 09, so maybe give him a bit of a run just to keep the engine ticking over...

I am not so convinced. I think are very very similar players. McVeigh is perhaps a little softer, although that is SLOWLY improving.

I'm very happy with Macca's improvement, but to be fair whenever he got the ball, there was no immediate pressure. He was virtually left unchecked for the whole game.

These guys are important this year and then for years to come. Great games from both last night and "McHack" has to be one of the hardest runners in the comp right now. Both still comparatively young so hopefully the foot skills will continue to improve.

His disposal was 50/50????

I don't recall him missing a target to many times to be honest.

I'll admit he wasn't paid much respect by the Lions last night but he used the advantage the best he possibly could. He ran hard all night and even looked composed when kicking for goal.

He's been in our top 3-4 players every game so far this year so I reckon he'll be more than a handy fosdike type player for us.

I agree on McVeigh. His improvement has been, so far, the highlight for me in this season. Stringing up 3 really good games in a row is an exciting prospect for the next few games to come. His accurate kicking for goal astounds me. His Hackness is riding his horse high at the moment.

I love it how he has copped it for a few years and has had to put up with crap from that other site from ill informed supporters. Yes Jarred is very active online and yes he does read stuff and yes i am sure he even googled himself.

But now of a sudden he is a gun.

FFS i never doubted his ability and he has always been Paul Roos special project and the guy is still young and like his older brother is developing into a good player with more responsibility the older he gets.

I am so glad that some of idiots of that other site arnt coaches or else we would have been coming last for a few years now.

NWBLOODS i am looking at you.

Both Fosdike and Mcveigh are under-rated.

They are endurance atheletes who provide an outlet and run their oppo into the ground. Harvey is/was (really) the best ever at it, our blokes obviously dont have his skill or poise, but every team needs one.

Invaluable job.

I think McHack will be better than Fosdike in the future.

I'm still undecided on Bevan...

His name is McVeigh, show some respect. At least he can say in the future i played for the swans, you on the other hand "i was tuff on an interweb forum casue i called one of our players McHack..chuckle chuckle"

No it's a slur. McHack isn't a positive nickname and those sort of names should only be used for opposition players, not one of our own.

Thanks, but I treat all players the same, regardless of who they play for. How is using a nickname any different to paying out a player for being "slow and soft"?

i will tell you this one mchack will never go close to winning a norm smith, but i do hope he gets to play in a GF.

Where did anyone say they did not rate Fosdike?

I am not PREPARED to rate McVeigh yet based on THREE decent games.
There is NO POINT in having a player that can run their opponent into the ground if they are turning over the ball.

McVeigh has improved a lot, and he will be a hell of a lot more valuable if he can get the effective disposal rate up.

Bevan's been passable. He's in there to put pressure on the ball carriers coming out of defence. He's a great tackler but isn't lightening fast. Corrie absolutely torched him at one point.

Mcveigh had a stellar game on Saturday night, it must be said. I too contribute some of this to the fact that Leigh Matthews doesn't rate him, but he made Leigh pay for the insult. His brother was having a blinder for the bombers at the same time, giving Judd a bit of a touch up. Mr & Mrs Mchack must be very proud.
