It seems to alot of people Freo's number 1 ruckman has been viewed as a circus act, fun to watch but what can he do ?. I think that view needs to be wrenched out of peoples memory bank and discarded.

I have felt that Sandi has improved gradually each year ( bar 2007, injury ) and all he needed was confidence and know how to throw his weight around. This year he has improved in alot of ways and has become Freo's work horse, probably carrying the team on his broad back,

It is happening slowly but I am seeing the view of him changing. He deserves alot of respect for the work he has put in to improve his skills. He might not be the noisiest person but in the Shane Parker mould, leads by example.

That's my 2 cents.

You can certainly see the pre-season drills paying off now, finally. He has done a lot of work on his marking as a key forward. So too has Brett Peake. At least one of them has come good! My feeling is that Peake could reinvent himself as a crumbing forward.

His one clanger was a kick form Cornes that rebounded off his leg OOB's

He has rebounded strongly from his stint at Easts , which is all you can ask for.

Peake was o.k against Carlton [being run down by Fev was pretty embarrassing]. I thought he was very good yesterday, but I'd like to see him do it at least 3 games in a row before I get too excited.

Unfortunately your Ruckman dominates like Cox but gets nothing from the midfeild recieving it as opposition teams know their ruckman will lose the tap. Sandilands would be talked about like Cox is and was if he had topline midfielders with real leg speed recieving and finishing off his good work.

The only reason I can't see him being in the same light as Cox is he has little loping speed, no left side and no distance on his kicking.
