To settle big equalisation issues in Victoria, should the AFL grant 2 lots of marquee games instead of 1 on Public holidays utilising both MCG & Etihad stadium and create new perminant fixtures events, scheduling for example

ANZAC Day
Pies v Essendon @ MCG at 2:30pm
Kangaroos v Dees @ Etihad @ 7pm
Saints v GWS @ Wellington

Dreamtime at the G'
Essendon v Tigers @ Sat night
Dreamtime at Docklands'
St Kilda v Bulldogs @ Sat 3pm

Up coming 'Good Friday' proposal
MCG Game - Blues v Pies (twilight)
Etihad Game - Dogs v Roos (night)

No one dominates Prime time and both games air on Channel 7

It's stops gate sharing and maximises big team revenues to dish out to the smaller clubs & smaller clubs get exposure marquee and prime time events
Thoughts?

No one would stick around after Pies/Bombers, or get there early for Dogs/Saints. And there is no reason to give big clubs the Good Friday game.

Leave dreamtime/ANZAC day as is, and give Good Friday to the Dogs and the Kangas.

What about 2 good friday games?
1 at the MCG b/w Blues & Pies
1 at Etihad b/w Kangas & Dogs?

I don't think you understand.

Big clubs shouldn't get a Good Friday game at all. They don't need it whatsoever.

Give only one game to a couple of smaller clubs. That way it's the only thing on Good Friday, they get more exposure and they also get the revenue.

Just a thought, I have no say in what happens

Just think both games aired on c7 and proceeds and tin cans donations go to hospital

I was thinking 3 games over Easter!
Good Friday- Western Bulldogs vs Carlton, Etihad
Easter Sunday- GWS vs Gold Coast, Spotless Stadium as only a few thousand would come
Easter Monday- Essendon vs Adelaide, Cazalys Stadium
Thoughts?

What about Hawks & Cats on Easter Monday currently? Don't like it? always a close contest

I like Blues v Dogs on Good Friday, prefer Pies v Blues... Even 2 games played throughout the day in Melbourne both aired on C7

I don't mind the OP's ideas to be honest. I think most of the Marquee games are part of the many inequities with the draw and it would be a good step towards allowing the smaller clubs the ability to draw greater revenue and reducing their dependency on the AFL to supplement them.

My preferred option would be doing away with all the Marquee games/rounds and just having rounds 1-22 with a nice rolling fixture and premium timeslots based purely on ladder position the previous year and be done with it. But that's never going to happen - so might as well be realistic.
