Bit of chatter about the WC semi tomorrow night being impacted by rain. There is a reserve day on Friday (the forecast for which is apparently even worse).

Does anyone know the provisions for using the reserve day? So for example, let's say South Africa bats first and bats through its 50 overs. When the Aussies bat, the rain comes and only 40 overs can be squeezed in. Does the game revert to Duckworth-Lewis, or do the remaining ten overs get played on the reserve day?

Basically, when does the game get reduced because of rain, versus when does the reserve day come into play?

Or is it perhaps the case that the reserve day is used where a game (minimum 25 overs, I think??) cannot be concluded, and so you come back the next day and start the entire match again??

The reserve day is just a continuation of whatever occured on the previous day as far as I know.

So if DLS was in play and was reduced to a 40 over match, then this would be the case into the reserve day.

Anyone know why CA stopped having shield/wbbl/marsh cup games available to stream in the CA App on AppleTV?

Used to be awesome last season. This season nothing just pathetic highlights days later with blurred thumbnails.

I sent the campaigners an enquiry over a month ago but no reply. They are impossible to contact. For tech support for the app you are supporsed to visit https://support.cricket.com.au/ however that's currently throwing certificate errors and wont load in chrome.

My understanding is that the preference is to get the game completely on the scheduled day, so in that case they wouldn't use the reserve day as Aus have faced the minimum required 20 overs

Yep, makes sense.

So the follow up question is, do they pick up where they left off the next day if the match isn't completed? Or start again. Or perhaps even somewhere inbetween?

Example: SA bats first. After 20 overs, it rains. Game is reduced to 40 overs. After 30 overs, it rains again, no further play.

Do they turn up the next day and bat for 10 more overs? Or do they try to get to the full 50 now? Or is the game reduced to 30 overs using D/L to calculate SA's score? Or start from scratch?? Seems very messy, no matter which option is taken.

They continue on so in that case SA would bat for another 10 to get to 40 and then Aus would have 40 overs to chase.

The only exception I believe would be, if SA bat for 20, rain comes, overs are reduced to 40 but rain comes again as they are about to resume, it would resume on the reserve day as a 50 over game.

That all makes sense.
