I thought it was top 8 that qualified?
Either way with Sri Lanka likely getting easily beaten by NZ and Netherlands playing India it looks likely England will finish top 8.

Slight correction. They are not all bowlers. S. Kirmani was a wicketkeeper batsman who scored two test centuries for India. His test batting average is roughly the same as that of Guptill.
Joel Curtis made a ton opening for the second xi, surely he'd be a better bet than Philippe right now.
