I'm personally hoping we land one of Fyfe or Martin, and then bring in someone like Pittard or Trengove on top of that.

Shiel is almost unattainable due to his market value and a trade needing to be done.

Agree. It's all good and well to target out of contract players but we have very little trade currency. The scenario you've mentioned is far more likely with Trengrove being at the top of the list, my understanding is that Port's salary cap is bursting and they'd be unlikely to match a generous offer. This is why they were keen to offload Hartlett and his $500+ a year contract.

Look, just putting it out there....but I really don't have that much interest in getting Fyfe. Just comes across as a massive FIGJAM flog and would cost a packet.

Obviously he's a gun and if we get him I'd be jumping right on the band wagon, but I hope we don't throw everything at him for the sake of upsetting the team balance.

Shiel is a pipe dream mate, we're not trading in any high end talent in 12 months, no currency left.

FA is the way to go. Hope for poor seasons from freo, richmond and port and blitz it.

agree "could even attract bids of $1.5m" as it goes on. That is just crazy, if fyfe goes for that no way he is hungry for success. The large bids will come but its just paper talk - we will see his intentions later in the year

Not saying geting him on that coin is a good fit for us but, fyfe should cost that much if thats how high the bar is already set.

You're confident Tiges & Freo won't match the offer?? ... they are restricted free agents, thus can match any offer we make - forcing a trade
Don't get me wrong, be awesome if we could land either ... but I think both clubs will expect more than the 1st round compo picks
