Low grade hammy and he missed 6 weeks. Do the sums
You screamed and squealed when he had a re-occurance of his hamstring after being back 2 weeks. Now that they are being conservative you are doing the same thing. No sums required, Cerra is a key player and it is of vital importance to get him right for the remainder of the season.

You still certain that he has re-aggravated his injury?

Still awaiting your proof that Zac Williams "spat the dummy" when you wanted him dropped.

So why did the club say low grade strain 2-3 weeks in the first place when now it's 6 weeks plus.

Oh they are being conservative now.

So you are absolutely sure that your original prognosis that he has re-done his hamstring is correct?

Once again you still haven't answered my query for proof that Zac Williams "spat the dummy" and that as a result should be dropped.

It could be that the club are just now very very cautious to avoid media negativity so hold him back longer given there is a bye on offer. It's not outside the realms of possibility you are right too of course but there is no definitive proof.

The theme of your point most would agree on. Cerra was supposed to be on the lighter side and was seen at training and is now weeks away. Frustrating.

But that's just not true. Said poster proclaimed that Cerra "must have" re-injured his hamstring. Similarly he said that Zac Williams "spat the dummy" and deserved to get dropped.

If you try and present your opinions as fact then it is quite logical that others might ask for some sort of proof.

Listening to vossy’s post match interview he was vague but did mention they have been reviewing the soft tissue injuries and have implemented some adjustments.

He said that they were looking at short/longer term things “to get after” whatever that means?

Anyway it is feasible that they just adjusted Martin/Cerra/Cuners to after the bye similar to how they approached Walsh’s situation.

Nobody wants players out for longer (esp the player) but doesn’t mean it’s sinister.

Got to be conservative with everyone now. With so many reoccurring soft tissue injuries Russell will know his job is very much on the line so expect an ultra-conservative approach from now on.

I agree it's not necessarily sinister. I expect Martin and Cunners to come back via the VFL too just to give them the best chance of avoiding another recurrence.

It will be softly softly from this point on.

Hoping they take their time and get Cerra right for the run home. Critical for us in finals. Well, critical only if he is firing. We don't need a stressed player back worrying about re-injury during games. A bit like what happened to Treloar who stopped going 100%.

Hope not having him doesn't cost us top 4.

Hopefully they are trying something different.
Agree 100%. Also, sometimes having one A-grade player out makes the “lesser lights” in the team work harder in the game. As an example, we were winning game with Walsh out, the round he was back we lost ( two seasons in a raw now). Having stars coming back sometimes causes others to relax somewhat. Hope we continue our winning form and only bring Ceres back when he is 100% ready to go.

100%. We don’t want to be limping into finals without Martin.

Likely with all of the soft tissue issues they are being ultra diligent with his rehab. He is a critical player to the team. An “unexplained” re-injury would be alarming, and I am sure they would be working to ensure no further recurrence. Would expect he has been put under a fine tooth comb inspection to determine if there is any underlying causation (ie back related)

Don’t like Cez being out, but would rather he plays consistently after the bye as opposed to “rushing” back for one game perhaps prematurely. He doesn’t strike me as a poor preparer, so his recurrence is the most concerning for mine.

Good point. Just have to look at the Cats and Dangerfield. Scott got a new toy to play with and gave him all the love and attention. All the other loyal mids he used to rely on dropped off that year.

On McStay and his potential return from ACL.

Doc did his knee on March 8.

21 weeks hence would be August 2nd.

Didn't Libba senior back in the 90s come back from an ACL after about 18 weeks?
As an aside, what happened to LARS? Was the in thing 10 to 15 years ago. Unless there are long term issues with the knee that impact enjoyment of life in later years, would have thought someone like Doc who is near the end of his career would be a good candidate to get him back this season? Totally understand for a young bloke to go the traditional route. Then again, not being a medical person, I'm likely missing something here.
