**** me.. typical isn’t it.. this group needs confidence and a win in round 1 would be a god send and a much needed boost and having our best mid out shifts the odds of a win out a bit.

The only positive is that Teagues intel of stopping Walsh no longer applies.

**** me..

Ride off 2022. We won’t see Walsh this year anywhere near his best. Stocker syndesmosis surgery last year still ongoing and he won’t play round 1. Walsh is 2 months after that so we won’t see him until after the bye. fu** you AFL. Always something isn’t there. GFY.

FFS - a massive blow after what has been generally a positive pre season since Jones retired.
Like every year, fitness of list will be the most underrated factor in success. Melbourne 2020 and Richmond dynasty - both the fittest teams throughout the relevant seasons.
On the other hand, we never start round 1 with our best 22 on the park and it always gets worse from there.
Need to just hope others step up and the injury doesn’t linger beyond the first month of the season.
Deflating but we’ve just got to move on and make the best of what we’ve got without him.

Signs a new contract then instantly injured.

Ok.... Which one of you lent him Jarrad Waite's autobiography?!?

Injuries happen. Shows that we are cracking in at training, something we have probably been lacking in recent history. If we wrap the boys in cotton wool they will never be ready for the season proper. Bring in the next soldier until Walsh is ready to step in.

Exactly. It's shite luck however he will be back and we still beat Richmond round 1 without him.

Awful news. These can be nasty. Maybe, just maybe, Walsh is one of those guys who heal quick.

Sam Philp or Jack Carroll to take his wing, no worries

I think I heard Murph say on the Dyl & friends podcast, that he regretted getting surgery on the same injury (I can’t spell it), rather than letting it recover naturally without, just to get back to playing 2 weeks earlier. I hope we are not rushing to get our best player back early, which over the long term might be the wrong move.

Maybe one of you medically skilled folks can give feedback on this decision that the team doctor has to make. Always like the medical replies by the smart posters

Does anyone know if walshy had the surgery yet? And why the hell has there been no update on stock, it's already been 8 weeks, our players take atleast 50% more time then other clubs to bring our players back, so frustrated atm.. Like most of us are!!
