The lad is 27 and has a history of hamstring and other soft tissue issues, I think that ship has sailed by now.
That's a bit defeatist. Depends if he wants to put the extra work into having a good career or just fade away. He looks to have a technique issue with his running that may be reversible.

Aiming to change muscle memory for a 27 yr old isn't exactly easy, especially something like how they run - it would likely take years to properly solve it. Then given his history there's not really any guarantee sound technique would prevent future injury. It may help the frequency of injury but that scar tissue isn't going anywhere.

Call it defeatist if you like but not many people over 27 get over repeat soft tissue injuries. If he was younger then I'd be more hopeful.

I don't think it would take years to address, it's an unknown how much work he's put into it already. He's at the age now where it's still reversible, depends how much work he puts into getting himself right.

We going to put lines through Charlie and Doc too?..Dean Rice...Harmesy the hamstrung ..how about Mots and Des English.

Personally I feel for Mitch and any player that cops a few injuries. To have the talent and work so hard to get the fitness levels required but no luck like that would be crushing.
As supporters we want perfection.
As people we have to know that is not how it works.
His injury issues have plagued him his whole career -- we need another third tall interceptor other than Marchy or gov .. same as we need another KPD as we knew McDonald's back issues when he came from Melbourne

Maybe is in jumping rather than running...and thats easier fixed... part technical and part bad luck

Anyone know the extent of the injuries of our players who went off the ground during the game, namely Pitto (back), Charlie (????) & Weits (????)

Weitering appeared to roll the same ankle that he did the week or two earlier. Unfortunate, but suspect he'll be able to just keep playing through it. Hoping the same for Charlie.

Overall, we know nothing at the moment.

Hopefully we get some more info about OMac’s injury diagnosis. The club said he’d be reassessed this week after the back spasms calmed down.

Don’t want to set off alarm bells but did see him grabbing at his groin (no pun intended)
Hopefully just over extended on the occasion

from the footage it looks to me like Charles stepped on the defenders foot when running to contest the ball and that probably caused his ankle to roll and he fell to ground/got back up and jogged over to the contest then bench. Doesn't look too serious and his comments after the game seemed to re-iterate

Charlie said he was fine in a interview after the game. Said he seen Martin on the bench fresh and thought he’d get him on
They said Pittonet had a “sore back” coming into the game and it apparently got “pretty sore” in the last 3 mins 😏

Thats why Martin came on.

You kinda read Voss’ face in the press conference, that it was a tactical move haha

Pitto could barely stand halfway through the last quarter, every contest he was having trouble getting to his feet. Didn’t look tactical to me.

It is speculation on my part, but I think weiters has been carrying a ankle since the pre season.
I noticed when he was on the bench getting restrapped in round one he already had hefty strapping at the front of his ankle and he has been slightly off his best form.
Obviously not too serious to prevent him playing.
I think Charlie will be fine as it was just a tweak.

Philp and Carroll to come back into our VFL side and one to go out for Saad, probably Boyd. Looking forward to watching these guys come on and develop, Honey back soon will be good too. There are some real "green shoots" popping up in our seconds which is nice to see because gee it's been a while!
