Voss in his presser seemed pretty confident it wasn't an ACL. Don't see why he would lie. Conceded we would have to wait for scans to confirm damage.

Gives me hope, he wouldn't lie about the early assessment being it wasn't serious. No reason to and don't think a coach could fake it that well even if they tried to...think the emotion would just come out.

I saw Harry was on the bench just with some strapping on his knee...gotta say I don't recall seeing other players who suffer ACL's doing that and he was just walking around (with a limp) unassisted after the game.

I know some players can walk even after doing an ACL, but I'm pretty sure in past cases the doctors at least get them to walk on crutches.

But as he said, we can't know for sure until scans.

Not saying he would, never know with knees though and Forty3's mail is normally pretty good. Wait and see but praying that he's avoided anything too major.

I'm hoping that given he said it on the main board that it's more just his own personal post to a Geelong poster, rather than an ITK post that he'd usually put on our board.

The land and twist is text book meniscus. In saying that anything can happen with knees.
The convo H had with the port bloke near the bench after the game tested my lip reading skills but the word meniscus was used by Harry so crossing the fingers.

To the detectives out there the time stamp of the convo is 2:43:20 on kayo.

Hopefully it is just a slight meniscus tear or something on the mild side for Harry.

Carlton News on Twitter also reporting the same

Sources: Carlton medical team initial diagnosis on Harry McKays knee injury appears to have ruled out ACL damage, looking to be less serious & something more short term (meniscus). Blues & McKay will obviously need to confirm via scans to be certain of injury.

A meniscus tear would be the best outcome,an arthroscope to do a bit of a clean out and he could be good to go in a couple of weeks.

im no doctor, can someone explain how long a meniscus tear would mean?

how bout mcl?

i know acl is 6-12 mths

basically when do we get harry back? (best case)
ACL is 12 not 6 to 12

10 months at very best. For a big bloke is harder.

His best case depends if there is a tear. I reckon it’s a bruising stinger. Might miss 1 week just so it doesn’t hurt his feelings for the bad look on tv. Carey and a few already so he is to soft at the contest. I love him but during big game finals he will need to push through injury and smash packs for us to make a GF

Im gonna stretch my memory back a bit,i think it was Docherty tore his meniscus and everyone was shocked he was back in 2 weeks? Happy for someone to verify that though.
I tore my meniscus quite badly, had Arthroscopic surgery, walked out of the hospital the same day,my knee was pretty stiff for a few weeks but im far from a professional athlete!
