Meniscus 4-6 - Harry himself did it last year and came back in 4. Docherty in 2 earlier this year.

MCL - 6-8 Based on the way he was injured I think this is unlikely

Or just some bone bruising from a bad hyper exentension which would see him miss 1-2 at most.

Unless your name is Marchbank, in which case that would be in years.

Harry McKay still sore as he checked into scans but says ACL damage has been ruled out. Hoping his right knee injury could just be bone bruising. Hear more from the Blues star tonight on

Carlton suspect star forward Harry McKay suffered an injury to his meniscus when he landed awkwardly from a marking contest early in the match against Port Adelaide.

However, they will need to await scans to reveal the full extent of the knee injury that forced him to be subbed out of Saturday’s win over the Power in the first quarter.

A source familiar with the matter, who was not authorised to speak publicly, said there was still hope McKay could return before the end of the season, but the amount of time he would spend on the sidelines would not be known until scans were assessed on Monday. Depending on severity, a meniscus injury can keep a player out between two and six weeks.

Situation Reminds me a bit of that Darcy Moore knee injury late last year. I think he only missed a week even though it looked really bad. Hopefully it’s similar good luck for H.

Do media outlets just camp at injured players house's and follow their movements or just hang out at hospitals waiting for a scoop?
It baffles me how the media know where to rock up an when.
The club must tell the media?
Unless of course they're like Tom Browne hanging out in a wheelie bin at Visy🤣

The afl clubs generally use the same clinics.
Media don’t need to camp out - the clubs are usually aware of the newsworthiness of injury stories and assist where they can/want.

Olympic Park imaging is the usual hotspot. Quick diagnostics and they don't have waitlists as long as your arm. I've had a few scans done there over the years and there's almost always an AFL player in the waiting room.

Here's hoping Big H is only out for a couple at most.

Great to hear by all reports it's unlikely to be an ACL or even PCL.

Sadly for us, if it puts Mckay out for even 4 weeks it'll probably cost us finals...our list lacks depth when it comes to tall forwards.

Maybe it will, maybe it won’t.

Yesterday showed we are very capable of playing, scoring heavily and beating good teams without him.

If Harry ends up being out for a while and depending on how we match up against the opposition, then I’d play young in his exact roll.
Imo
I thought we looked OK with JSOS, Martin and Cunners splitting the medium fwd role. Biggest worry is Charlie's workload, but having the extra mediums that can offer a marking target is important. We'll see how it goes against the Pies with Moore sitting on the entries to Charlie.
