It's interesting that they're all happening at this end of the season, to players that don't have that history.

Suggests load management may not be quite right for this point in time?
Our club has been building and in finals contention for a few weeks now.

Typically 6 weeks out from finals teams ramp up training to hit peaks during finals.

That to me explains why across the league there is an increase in soft tissue injuries.

Its a bit of a worry we've had a few hammies in recent weeks. It's almost as if the players have been playing a high intensity, borderline manic style of football hereto unsighted at our club.

Dangerous gamble to make when we were no sure thing of making finals.

Expecting Walshy back this week?

2-3 weeks when the injury list was updated on July 24th for Sam Walsh. Could be back this week or maybe another week.

Would be 3 weeks by the end of this week really. The week of the Collingwood game, the week of the Saints game and now this week.

We're running over teams with strong Q4's every single week yet people want to blame the conditioning guy for a few hammy's
We've done that once really.

We've lost 3 of our last 5 4th quarters. Quite a few were because we were far enough ahead but this notion that we're constantly running over teams isn't particularly accurate, outside of yesterday.

You refuse to look at the data to compare club injury types and rates?
The data is on the AFL website and released every Tuesday if you're interested. What I'm saying is our injuries over a sustained period isn't up to scratch and needs to be addressed. It cost us a finals appearance last year. We played Walsh last year with a bad back which resulted in him requiring surgery.
This year soft tissue injuries are rampant see below. This doesn't include the impact injuries which are unavoidable.

Lob?
Cerra - Comes back for a half Reoccurs

Very different. Our injuries are over a sustained period (years) Not two months.
If we can't understand and articulate the issues, what hope do we have for fixing them? As a club, looks like we're past just looking at the outcome. It's much more nuanced than just the number of injuries.

Russell wasn't given autonomy or respect under Teague, a massive confounder on his ability to deliver.

SOS's list management strategy was notorious for bringing in injury-prone players and hoping we can overcome their issues. Russell battling uphill with the likes of McGovern and Martin, and their chronic soft tissue injuries.

We've won 7 games in a row, and the intensity we're playing with likely contributing to our current soft tissue issues. Again, McGovern and Cerra have both had their hamstring issues, and Walsh is vulnerable with the back.

Why would you use reason and rationality when you can just find somebody to pin the blame on?

Yeah, I guess they will either bring him back right on 3 weeks or give him an extra week of training. I reckon it would be based off how he’s training leading up to Thursday.

Voss keeps referring to being on the conservative side and with Cerra perhaps coming back a touch early against Collingwood, I'd be surprised if we see Walsh back this week. Reckon he'll be back V the Suns in Rd.22. Cez the week after against the orange team (hopefully along with McGovern, JSOS & Kennedy)
