On the plus side, there is still a role for Cunners next year. Deluca might get to keep his spot on the list too.

And so some will begin to rationalise a shit trade period. Let me guess, our pick 9 is GOLD and the guy we get will be the guy we rated number 2... high fives even though the rest of the football world rated this 23. Please! Learn to negotiate! This is NOT good.

On much happier news, we are still in with a decent chance to team up Flanders with Simpson

Mentioned that GC final offer was our pick 9 for Martin and pick 15...depending on how early we knew Papley was off, I would have taken that deal...
I've fallen behind, so not sure if someones already said it, But I stuck with trade radio and they interviewed Craig Cameron. He clarified that that deal they offered also included our 2020 2nd rounder. I reckon thats overs. Also in the Dodo interview sounds like Swans offers were 9 and a future first.. dont think that was ever really gonna do it either

So GC wanted Martin & 15 for 9 and our future second ..

No wonder we didn't do that!

We offered future second, future 3rd, probably equates to about pick 26, pick 44. More than fair for Martin and they knocked it back.

GC are ******* morons - this is on them, not us.
This has the AFL's influence written all over this if correct reckon they've told GC to play that card .

In all seriousness is Jack Martin really going to tear the house down and drive us to another flag?

I don't blame SOS for not getting this deal done.

He has proven absolutely NOTHING. He may have shown potential but he has not proven enough to warrant a first rounder.

Papley, Wines, Coniglio and Shiel (Last year) has been a systematic failure with our recruiting department

Dodoro looks a little shaken

That’s the thing - can’t we all just agree that there’s every chance essendon slowly melts down over the coming 13 months, and that’s before we know whether Daniher is even going to get in the park.

There’s sure to be a little rancour from both pro-Joe (might just be Joe) and no-Joe camps in the team and I’m keen to see how that plays out

Others have said that - I was fairly sure I heard Barrett say it was our 9 for Martin and 15...if so, we should have taken it...but agree, if it was our future 2nd as well, was too high a price

Genius?

It's no guarantee that Martin will be at Carlton.

We failed for the second consecutive year to land an A or B grade player.

We take pick 9 into a very average draft - the whole reason we put it on the table because it didn't satisfy a need.

This is another failed trade period plain and simple.

So which A grade talent was available for us to grab with pick 9 ?
