***************************************************

Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

He can open up the corridor just need the overlap and bang inside 50 to curnow goal blues premiers 4 years in a row the greatest dynasty ever seen

Plus having the option to carry through middle Will mean teams can’t sag heavily to protect the up the line kick, which is what appeared to start happening later in the season. That or we just completely lost our way I guess

Betts can stay on the list till he's 45 if he gets us Rankine.

The great man helped the club get Jack Martin last year and Zac Williams nominating Carlton this year. I really don’t think that Eddie even knows his own strength.

hahahaha, sure, whatever you tell yourself.

Bar fridge?
I’d don’t understand the point of such posts? If you want players to help spread the load (take pressure of Cripps) in the guts, they don’t have to be huge. The following players win a lot of contested possessions and clearances and aren’t huge: Neale, Adams, Treloar, Shiel, Boak, Viney, Liberatore, Parker, Shuey and the Crouch brothers.

Didn't realise 5'11" and 82kg was a 'man mountain' territory. Guess that makes Cripps the entire Himalayas?

Graham is all of 3cm and 1kg bigger than Viney. It's hardly a notable difference.
Get what you’re saying but based on what I’ve seen of him he just looks ‘big’. Might not be that tall but he plays and looks taller. Big frame on him.

Prismall, Gardiner, Playfair, King. It is a lot easier to get a kick in a good side.

You know where this stands out most? - In the VFL.

Watched Geelong play us over the years and whether we won or lost, one thing stood out - One team connected so much better than the other...and it wasn't us.
The NB's always played as individuals, yet somehow Geelongs players had the radar on.

I'm not sure that draft pick helps them in their current push for a decent finals run, unless they need it to secure another important player via trade.

I'm not 100% sure what they need other than a key forward with a bit more presence that Weideman. That and some composure when their season is on the line.

Very interested to see what they do in the off season.
Personally think that they gave a few conditional players like melksham for instance. Seems to be more worried about doing enough to stay in the team than impacting games.
Not a great kicking team either ( e.g. harmes, hibberd, lever).
The sum of their parts is almost there but i cant see a time that it is actually good enough.
I think 2018 was their absolute peak, 2019 was their deepest valley and 2020 was about their average.
If they were brave they could jettison viney to try and trade someone in to try and change their one dimensional on ballers.

You've chosen Buddy's massive contract as an example.
To get a FA you have to pay, and with length of the contract as well.
He's a very good get given he ticks a number of boxes for us.
Not disagreeing he wouldn’t be a good acquisition.
Contract length/$’s = playing and marketing ability.
We all know Cripps needs a hand. Who would you rather have, Williams or Crouch in the trench with him?

Wasn't making any comment about that. Was more in reference to a poster saying his nickname is 'Fridge', which is interesting for a guy who's solid but hardly a 'man mountain' and I certainly wouldn't have thought his shape warranted the nickname. I don't know, maybe I watch too much rugby.

Yeah he's a solid build, seems pretty hard about it too which is good.

Love this time of year with the speculation of who we are into and who we might get.
I am however more excited that we will finally see Kemp in action in 2021.
Don't know a lot about him other than what the u18 followers have to say, but by the sounds of it he could be anything :)

Walsh & Kemp partnering with Cripps, Setters, Williams, SPS, Fish, Cunners......(however they are set up)
Add Viney, Kelly potentially???

As BIG KEV would say 'I'm excited :)

Viney often ragdolls larger opponents,
He may be relatively short but he's strong which coupled with next level intensity means that he's often to one making others look small.
I understand & respect the views of those that are against recruiting Viney but it'd be a nice change to have someone in our colours playing with that sort of aggression/intensity.

Carlton has had a form of contact with Ollie Wines and are keen on luring the Port Adelaide midfielder to Ikon Park.

- Damian Barrett

This should get people excited, particularly when you link it back to B70 saying earlier this year that Wines won't be at Port Adelaide next year!

I'm sorry but that's an absolutely awful comparison. After 9 seasons Crouch has played 95 games. After 9 seasons Murphy had played 185 games
Compare both teams lists and success in that time frame...considering our list we had no option but play Murphy..If you think Murphy’s skills (kicking, handball and tackling) are A+ we are watching different games.

Yeh when you weigh almost 90kg and are only 1.78cm you are going to be bloody strong.
