Why would anyone actually be pining over BSilvagni?
He showed nothing, cared little and was ousted as he should have been.
If we feel he has any chance at all, we can rookie him.....but that won't happen.
I get it, but I also get that he's still got time to prove himself somewhere. Do we know he cared little? I just hope we have a 2nd tier competition for him to try out in.

Two years in the system, with one of them hopelessly compromised. Truth is, the club has other priorities than a development tall, reduced lists, and being out of contract are a bad combination.

You make it hard when you bring them up yourself and tell other people not to. I think any and all of those names could make a fist of it in a pinch, which is what we'd need in the short term. Some better than others, and dependent on the opposition, but to varying degress they provide depth.

Marchbank is the same height as Grimes. The game is changing, and not every KPD needs to be 195cm and 95kg.
All the young dominant KPF are 200cm plus good below there knees .. I fear for weitering let alone marchbank

Want surprise me of crouch is I blue next year and we put twelve months more into Kelly or merret
I would not be surprised if we make a last minute bid on Crouch seeing port and Geelong might be out of the race who knows who else is still in contention but anything can happen in the trade period!

1. You posit a 'true' meaning of what developing means
2. You then go one to make assumptions about 'work ethic' 'psychology' and relative measures you would have no inside knowledge about - referencing other players in other positions
3. You then repeat your own speculations as fact to conclude

To me it is just another Silvagni - exited. One more to go.
Sooner they get Jack out the better. Just a messy bloody distraction. Ben shouldn't have been brought in in the first place. Never looked remotely up to rigours of AFL. Jack great endeavour but not a great footballer. Serviceable. All this legacy nonsense, just draw a line under it. Get what we can for him and everyone is a winner. Cant be easy on him either and that will never change. Regardless it will always be a binary response. It is because he is/is not a silvagni. **** playing under that cloud. Could play a more central role at a rebuild. If I was him take a long contract at North, take a pay day and forge his own career. Could be the making of him and good luck to him if it pays off. That versus not playing 1's next year at Blues... Simple equation.

Wanting Austin & co. to get creative with Geelong, who are going to need #7. They may need #13 too so let’s shake out what we need. Was reported SDK was being groomed as a ruck/defender like his brother is ruck/forward. Our glaring depth holes are KPD and ruck. Surely a commonsense target along with pick 17 or 18 after Saturday.

Sure? GWS match, Cameron really wants to move back to Melbourne, Essendon or Collingwood pick up the phone...

You're assuming no deal could get done between the Giants and Geelong, which I don't believe will eventuate.

Geelong are a well run club. They deal fairly and will pay appropriately.

GWS came out straight away declaring they would match Cameron.

Not a peep re williams.

No way they match Williams

Cameron they need to take a stand on.

Think they’ve already got 1st round compo for ZW lined up, will take that.
They’ll need to evaluate JC’s return before matching or trading but at this stage they’d have 2 picks after Adelaide has their pick swap.

Sure. But restricted free agency means that a player can't leave for less without the blessing of the club they're leaving. Not sure GWS are feeling very beatific....
Yeah, I'm not a fan of RFA. I hope they get rid of it and go straight to FA.

Besides, if players want to leave your club, forcing them to stay is just plastering over the cracks. Look at *.

Forcing clubs to rip off the bandaid will make them better off in the long run.

Really worried about the Zac Williams situation with the news of Cameron wanting to leave.
I know GWS’s cap is stretched, but surely now they have a bit more $$$ to up their offer to ZW and convince him to stay.
That would be an absolute disaster for us.
I doubt they'd want to keep a player now that he has nominated another club to play with, particularly so quickly after the season ended.

If players are willing to take LESS money to have success, good on them. Isn't that what every club and fan wants?
No, not fans of the bottom clubs. How is any team supposed to rebuild in the current environment? We are extremely lucky we nailed the 2015 draft. I shudder to think where we would be without it. Or if Cripps/McKay/Curnow decided to leave in 2018 when we were on our knees.

North are in for ten years of misery unless they are given massive concessions to relocate or merge.

None are KPD.
Thought that i saw plow do a half pie decent job on Jack Darling?

**** em.

Alright then, I’ll offer them priority access to a couple of players in the SANFL, WAFL and VFL.

;)

Why does the Cameron decision come out before Geelong play Saturday? Would’ve thought best to wait until after GF
Maybe in his mind it looks better for him to announce it now instead of potentially announcing he is going to the reigning premier next week.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the COLA is brought back
That's the pro
Cameron is the one they'll match, he'll get them two first's. They wouldn't get any more than the compo they'll get from Williams in a trade. Williams is gone.
If AFL GWS serious they will clear those two player this year then get salary cap in order and push for flag while the have a good core 6-8 to win it .. Offering Cameron 750 k after he took a 500 k cut on back ended contract winning Coleman being TOP forward throughout last contract is a Low blow -- especially what he did to save cognilio Kelly Whitfield By signing back ended contract .. no wonder he played as he did this year -- this contract would of been in front of him all year .. if they make life difficult for him it sends bad message to rest

It will only be 10 years if they throw their newly found cap space at a couple of 1M mercenaries.

If they draft well and bring in good foot soldiers, without overpaying, it won't be anywhere near that long.

In 10 years the #1 pick from this year will be older than Cripps.

I’m sure the two respective football managers would Know each other well enough to strike up a Mutually beneficial deal.
