GWS CEO Dave Matthews: "It's highly likely that we will match the offer, so the ball is in Geelong's court to see if they can satisfy us with a trade"

Sam McClure: "What's he worth?"

Dave Matthews: "Treloar & Shiel were worth 2 first round picks... And key forwards are hard to find

fu** em.

Alright then, I’ll offer them priority access to a couple of players in the SANFL, WAFL and VFL.

;)
😂 I’m all for that!

If I recall correctly in 2018 the AFL “recommended” that us and Gold Cost should apply for priority picks. Then when we did apply Chris Scott and Clarkson where furious arguing our position was self-inflicted since it was our own strategic decision to go down the youth path to rebuild.

Funny how these two teams take full advantage of the system every year (we tried and couldn’t attract anyone) and only now Clarkson is complaining that the draft should be changed and isn’t enough to help struggling teams.

Love the Gerard and Robo narrative difference between Williams and Cameron. “850k Carlton are overpaying” vs “got to give it to the Cats that they can fit everyone in “. As biased as the Liberal Victorian media.

Whately barracks for Geelong and the drunk barracks for *, so their saltiness is pretty self explanatory

Cameron is an absolute gun footballer , great forward and special with ball delivery like the Cats can produce shut the gates it will be scary,
2 X 1st rounders every day of the week.
This presents as a great opportunity for the Baggers to secure the picks we need In our trading. I’d also look at doing , J. Clark & 16. for pick 7.

Sad but it's true .. Williams isn't half the
Footballer Cameron is -- we have to pay 150k over for a HBF maybe midfield experiment -- Geelong know they getting a quality forward with a big tank .. like touhy and hendo -- they very well managed club -- both out ex players are giving greater result to them than what we got in return and they paying less salary for what they got .. we have a long way to go to be in there stratosphere

Thanks for that insightful contribution to the discussion.

Given you've failed to offer anything substantial to the contrary, I'll continue to hold the opinion that Weitering, Jones, Plowman, Marchbank, Casboult, Macreadie, McGovern and JSOS would all be capable of playing on various tall and medium forwards.

No argument from me that Weiters and Jones do it best...that's why they're starting in the 22. But if one of them was injured, we have enough options to field a backline capable of holding its own against most forward lines. In the same way that Richmond losing Rance for an extended period discovered that they had players pencilled into other roles who were actually capable of more.

Can confirm that I saw Clayton Oliver and Simon Goodwin in deep conversation at an inner Melbourne public park today... couldn't read much into the body language but given the circulating rumours I thought it was worth posting.

Princes Park?

Guess Dodo will be asking for Wines and a first if Port are lucky...

Hopefully it’s a sign that Oliver wants to be traded to us thanks to the help of Cripps of course!

Take the spot of Rozee up forward, Rozee to play more mid in place of Wines 👍

This might’ve already been mentioned but if Geelong's offer is low enough, GWS should go full Dodo with Cameron. Force a trade for overs or send him through the draft. There is no downside for them.

Take the compo and get pick 9, send him to the draft and get nothing, plenty of downside for them.

I love to see this.

No doubt Dow could learn from Sam's professionalism.

I mean look at that smile. It's perfect. And those teeth....I bet Sam's the only one that follows his dentist's recommendations about brushing.

Dow just looks uncomfortable. But you can understand why....He was being coached by Diesel this year, who has a Guinness World Record for resting agro face.

Just remember, Dow was only 20yo until last week. He still has plenty of time to grow into that elite-looking midfielder we all hoped he would be become when we selected him with pick 3....
The thing that I take out of that photograph is that their hands are in perfect symmetry...
It’s like ying and yang of hand orientation.

This must mean that they’ll be that 1 -2 punch, ying yang, order and chaos in our midfield for years to come.

I agree with you, especially about Moore. He did kick a bag and was best on before he got his ones gig.

Liam Jones was a known spud before he suddenly wasn't.

Look this banter is fun but a bit one sided ...and please- gimme a break with yoru contortions

Moore is now Liam Jones?? really ....<chuckle>

Liam Jone's absolutely most pityfull poor games when he was failing as a forward - at his worst....is 100X better than Moore. Moore 'kicking a bag' in a game of 12's touch footy is your validation point ? - Please....stop with the laughs - you are killing me! :D :D :straining:

Motlop possibly surplus to requirements

Won't come to that though because i can't see Geelong having the cap space to prevent roughly 12 other clubs satisfying Cameron's demands. Or, if Geelong can, wanting to, given it would wreck their list management strategy of the past decade.
