With all the latest trade goss, it sounds like the only player still possibly on the midfielder radar is Wines. And I don't see him moving. So I think we should start to get comfy with the idea of Saad and Williams being the only gets this offseason.

i cant see why dunkley would leave dogs and why dogs would want to trade him...he is one of their important players.

Maybe unhappy with his role? Played second ruck a lot this year which was quite strange.

Also if the rumours about Hunter and Smith are true, maybe he's unhappy with the culture at the club/how the club has handled the situation. Grasping at straws there but it's possible.

Been answered a few times here, he might not like the role given to him this year. Might prefer a permanent mid role like 2019 where he dominated.
This season he was essentially the 2nd ruck with stints forward.
Might be looking for a permanent position.

Hmm assuming Barbazza's on the money, sounds like there's a bunch of players we have serious interest in that haven't been mentioned yet in the media or on here.

Would love for us to do a Neale, which Brisbane kept under wraps until really late in the year and caught everyone by surprise and by the time it was revealed Neale had eyes only on Brisbane so there was no bidding war.

Players I'd be happy for us to be asking the question about:

GWS - Hill, Daniels
GC - Miller, Sexton
Collingwood - Phillips
Richmond - Higgins
Essendon - Zerk-Thatcher (contracted until 2021 and would be very much a required player but I rate him)
Would be absolutely flat out ecstatic if we could somehow get him across to us. I don't know why he doesn't come up in more conversations about small fwds of the comp

What have we got to lose in seeing if we can get 10 minutes a quarter out of him in that role compared to what we're getting now?
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it happen just don't think he has the tank! Personally I'd play him as a third tall defender, getting led to the ball would suit him. Intercept marking potential and he's a good field kick.

Trouble with that role is it relies on Marchbank not being fit and of course it's a role Plow often plays.

Where do we fit them all in down back?

Ok, if we are into Dunkley I propose this trade:

Carlton - Pick 7, 27 and 45
Bulldogs - Dunkley, Pick 13

I cbf trying to work out the points difference but it should help them immensely to cover the bid for JUH. Surprised me but the dogs don’t have a second this year

My only reticence to doing this is we only have pick 13 for Saad and that’s too much to give for him. Maybe the campaigners can throw in 41 as well....still makes me sick though

The bloke tied to them likely to go in top 2 of draft is the only reason, seen as the most expendable of their mids

That would rate Dunkley as a pick 9. Might be slightly unders. Maybe add a future second.

Sam Edmund said some interesting things on SEN this morning:

-De Goey one month ago was leaning strongly towards Carlton but things may have changed slightly due to Williams and Saad nominating

-Carlton has cast a wide net this year with Williams Saad Oliver De Goey and others

Would love to get a couple more. A cheap small forward, and add more depth to our midfield.
