Eh not quite. I’m thinking more of your classical pressure type small forward.

Williams and Saad go a decent way to solving the problem of the ball getting into the forward line, but doesn’t stop it coming back out at breakneck speed like it did this year.

Some improvements from Harry on his 2nd efforts i think will actually go a decent way.
Also why I'm happy to have eddy play on, as by my eyes was most of the reason for any forward pressure this year.

It would be nice to actually have a small forward who hasn't been there on account of midfield or talent surplus.

I've never been a fan of the 3 tall forward line but it clearly works, we just need the appropriate smalls to buffer against the disadvantages it brings.

Agreed. Hopefully having C.Curnow in there with more agility than Casboult will help as well.

I would say McGovern too but his fitness levels were extremely concerning this year. Looks more a “stay-at-home” second forward than a roaming mid-sized forward that’s hard to match up on.

Surely we’re still after a big body to help Crippa and give him a chop out. JDG wouldn’t be playing that role I wouldn’t imagine?
I want Wines but I imagine he’ll be hard to get given Ports year.

I miss Jeffy Garlett. He was a awesome small forward. I’ve pumped him up before but I reckon Stack should be worth a phone call. Bobby Hill at GWS. Bolton looked very dangerous last night. Eddie B needs a time machine.

Do Cat B rookies count against the cap/list numbers?? Maybe we could take a fly on an indigenous kid (like Freo did with Isaiah Butters)?

McGovern is a frustrating one. Clearly capable of a lot. He actually looks great linking up on the wing at times.

Ok so back to regular programming. Do we think Lachie Hunter is a genuine chance? I rate him but as Arrow said earlier in thread looks a bit of an accumulator. Could delivering to our forwards instead of Josh Bruce actually help him?

An accumulator, which we lack, and an excellent user of the ball. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Proven performer.

Compelling numbers if he's gettble?

I’ve long believed the club leaks information directly for the purpose of gauging fan reaction. There’s just too much smoke in some cases too early in the piece (and sometimes smoke that burns really hot for a few days then dies down, too...)

Thinking about trading JSOS, but unsure how fans will feel given he is a son of a gun of a son of a gun? Drop a hint, see what happens

Want to pursue a bad boy star with pending sexual assault charges and a list of malfeasance as long as an Ang Christou woof, but not sure whether the fans and media will jump on board? Drop a hint... and watch what happens in the Bluemour thread

Etc. And it’s pretty smart if true...

And definitely better than Adrian ‘Colangelo’ Dodoro’s Bigfooty antics during trade week...

I don't think they leak to get fan reaction at all, if they are making decisions based on this sort of thing they need to pack it in now.

As far as young SOS goes, I don't think you have it totally right, the club may have no say in whether he stays or goes at this point, if the lad's mind is made up there's not much that can be done about it now. The damage was probably done some time ago.

Let's not be thinking that anything that gets said here directly influences the direction of the club, nor should it.

Thread locked for a big clean up.

What a ****ing mess.

Edit: Thread has been cleaned up.

Some posts were in extremely poor taste, disgusting & disgraceful which don’t belong on our Board & also site wide.

Let’s get back to Bluemours & some decent discussion & keep any smut/sexist talk off our Board.

Would hate to have to hand out thread bans/infractions.

Thanks all.

Focusing on the footy side of things, JDG strikes me as the kind of player who plays really well in contract years but then coasts when contracted.

There's been quite a few reports in the past of him not being ultra professional and coming back from pre-season out of shape etc...and he's had some huge games this year, but I reckon his 2019 (contracted) was only OK and the last time he had a really good year was when he was last OOC.

I worry that if we give him a long 4-5 year deal to pry him out of Collingwood that he'll coast given his security and not be the star we hope for.
