Exactly, if they can't hit a 60m torp or execute a Trent Cotchin WWE coat hanger by the time they are 6, piss them off & start looking at the next crop of 5 year olds.
Had to be said.

For what it's worth Sam Edmund said on SEN that the AFL's opening proposal to the AFLPA was a 30% cut to salary cap!

Also said that as it stands (and seems to be always changing) that list sizes will be 38/4/2

If only the AFL had have signed off on the last collective bargaining agreement as the players association was wanting - a % of the overall revenue.

Would be no need for a conversation and effectively begging like they are now

We give pick 7 pick 27 and a player for clayton Oliver. Next years first to essendon
The question you need ask would you accept that for Cripps? Not suggesting they are the same, rather Melbourne surely values him the same way we value Cripps.

I suggest at minimum you’d need this years first and nexts years, just for Melbourne

maybe maybe you can get a second back

Some of these little wannabees have basically zero tank, sh*t ball skills and very few are double sided. If they're not up to AFL standard as 6 year olds, we have the right to ask "why not?"

Their spread is shocking. 18 players chasing after the ball.

Just 2 players less. Not bad.

That is why I included a player of worth.
Pick 27 and a player of worth would make up for it. Our best player is cripps by far. Oliver is top 3 behind petracca and gawn so they might value him a tad lower than we value cripps

Knowing Garry Lyon is not stupid, interesting that this would appear as Oliver talk seemingly warms up a little.

What twilight zone of incomprehensible stupidity have we stumbled into??? Essendon Saad is statistically identical to GC Saad, three years older, and uncontracted...and his trade value has trebled? And because we only have 7 that's what we must use...it's like ordering $20 pizza and only having a $50 note...an out of the box thinker may try to break that note up to more relevant currency, or perhaps request some change, or maybe even a store credit to use in the future...if only similar options were available in trade week...
All the more reason to turn #7 into something else.
"Sorry we've only got pick 18"

Heard this one but still find it extremely hard to believe, especially with Smith. Would have to have been incredibly bad to turf him.
It would have to be so bad any club with integrity wouldn't go near him.

Who is the player Carlton are willing to shift off that realistically Melbourne would part with pick 27 for?

If they are shifting Oliver, then they don’t want it need a Kennedy (argument if he would even net that pick anyway), Dow? O’Brien? I don’t think they are worth a second rounder to Melbourne, Marchbank? Possibly but probably has more value to Carlton than Melbourne.

At the end of the day Melbourne would have all the cards, I don’t see a player sitting on our list, that Melbourne would value high enough to think worth it. Carlton & Melbourne would have to identify that player and then also convince them to go to Melbourne (which they don’t have to)

If it involves a Carlton player more likely we are shipping them off elsewhere and taking that pick, but if it’s a 20’s pick, more likely it goes with 27 somehow off to the Bombers for Saad.

Melbourne will need to hold something out to their supporters, 1 first round pick & Dow (for example) doesn’t do that, 2 first round picks is a lot closer.

Sarcasm meter has been in the red all day

One thing that shows none of them auskick kids are good enough is the absence of stretcher cases......
Not to mention they also missed most of this year. Everyone knows the most important year for development is 6-10 years old. We should be trading out of the draft in 10 years time now or only looking at WA kids that had a full AusKick season

Nothing untoward there at all.
Compared to many athlete or wannabes accounts a distinct lack of 'tickets'.
I see family and dogs, open space.
Might be more of a solitary chap, and the team plus covid restrictions may well have been stifling experience.
My view is contrary, lets hope he kept fit and is ready to go '21

Either worth having a look at?

Shaz could have been special had he not had a broken body. I'd be asking Andy Russell the question.

Broomhead will never be the same after that horrific injury.

Yeah i agree. Dow lob kennedy jsos won’t do it. Maybe cunningham sps stocker ? Depends on who Melbourne values. Mcgovern as bad as he has been would provide great structure to their forward line. He is an upgrade on mitch brown and mcdonald someone to help out weids. But your right they probably hard to see it getting done without 2 first rounders

If Oliver comes across it will be for our future first rounder plus the Geelong first rounder that doesn't go to the Bombers for Saad - if they want something else they can have 27.

As you say I can't see them wanting a player we would be happy to part with that would move the needle.
