ITK C09 has recently stated in Bluemours that Oliver has been approached and we are awaiting his decision. If he accepts, it is going to throw a spanner in the works for the Saad trade, by finding Picks and/or players to satisfy both * and Melbourne. What do others think? What players, if any, would we be prepared to give up to satisfy Melbourne?

Not at all, Dodo....as I’ve stated all along here’s 27 now on your bike.

You satisfy Melbourne and get Oliver and then ream the * ...

It’s not reaming Essendon, 27 is about where the value sits for Saad.

It’s a fair and equitable offer, add 45 to make him feel like he won the trade if you want but 27 is only a couple of picks above optimum

It's well in the range

Tell me another trade that was worth more and was comparable in players

Shiel and Neale's trades were equal to pick 3. Treloar's was equal to #2 (although the Pies underestimated how poorly they would do the following year).

For us to get #23 back this year, we'd need to be finishing in the bottom half of the ladder next year for Melbourne to get equivalent value (which I doubt they would bet on), and I think Oliver is worth more than those other players.

As I said, highly unlikely.

I can tell you right now there is no way Melbourne would give us a 2nd rounder or any other pick that isn't a 4th rounder with that trade.

Trade Inflation in full effect.

Every year it seems "elite" players cost more and more.

Pick 7 plus a future Pick 10-14, for Oliver and 23 (slides to ~25) is in excess of what Brisbane paid for Lachie Neale...which in itself was a significant investment.

6 + 19 + 55 for Neale + 30
7 + 12 + for Oliver + 23

It's around the mark.

It's actually not more than what Brisbane paid for Neale, it's less.
And that's if we finish low enough to have pick 12.

7 plus a future Pick 12 (assuming we make finals but choke due to lack of experience), for Oliver and 23 - values Oliver around Pick 4. It's pretty darn close to those other trades. There's a gambling element from Melbourne, but I'd suggest a team who are as inconsistent as Carlton have been are less likely to go deep into finals than to potentially miss out on them all together, regardless of who we bring in.

If Oliver requests a trade to Carlton, and Melbourne offer he and #23 for #7 and our future 1st, I'd suggest we would sign the deal instantly.

Something about Kemp.

Just seem to think we have got one with this kid.

Hope he has a massive pre season and see him rd 1. That would be fantastic.

Due for a big hit in round 1. Weitering and Walsh were no brainers at pick 1. Probably need to go back to Charlie and Harry where we nailed a couple of really good ones.

Still plenty of time for SPS, Dow, Lob, Stocker. But none have really burst into the scene yet or look like becoming a graders at this stage.

Kemp becoming A grade would be huge for us.
He will be elite, only behind Rowell in his draft.
Anderson was only drafted at #2 to be Rowells stable pony.
There, I said it!👍
