As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

Oliver has absolutely requested to come to Carlton. News will only filter out if a deal can be done. Until then all parties will keep quiet about it.
Welcome back MS3 ..... do the club think there is a chance of a deal being struck. What would you say the price would be around If so?

And MS3 Comes off the long run and goes bang

I once took a wicket against my mate like that. Pity it hit a pretty big crack in the concrete and deviated enough to make me feel like Shane Warne.

Kane Cornes is weird. Did Carlton promise Kane that we would take him in the 2000 draft but we didn’t? I can’t figure out the hatred. He is like a Collingwood supporter when it comes to Carlton. Really odd.
it is pretty simple. He says anything carlton related, he gets a bite.

IMO, even if you need to trade out this years 1st, next years 1st and Kennedy, you make it happen.

Saad really shouldn’t cost a 1st at this point. So if we have the 1st this year, you deal that one to Melbourne.

The point is, no doubt from the ITK’S that Oliver wants to come, but the power is with Melboure here. If they say no then it’s not happening. Not sure if they are receptive or not. But publicly the noise is No. We need some luck and savvy convincing.

Yep will be like the first year of Bryce Gibbs negotiations all over again..... Melb will want too much and no deal will get done.

Hopefully Melbourne are reasonable enough to see that Oliver doesn’t want to be at their club and will try to make a trade with us. Dealing with Melbourne probably won’t be like dealing with Dodoro or I hope it isn’t. If its true that Oliver amd Viney don’t get along, that’s huge. Viney has just signed a big contract and he is their most loved player with a name that is massive for that football club, it isn’t Oliver.

Seriously how bad does he play that ball though? He is like an automaton, hey if I thrust my pad wide of off stump i'll be okay, without even looking at the ball.

Thanks for insight MS3.

Realistically what would Melb need, to agree to a trade?

Trade Collateral we have:
2020 Picks - 7, 27
Future picks - 2021 1st and 2nd round
Players - Dow, O’Brien’s, Stocker, JSOS, SPS, Kennedy, Cunningham

Also need to keep enough in the kitty to get a trade done for Saad.

Of course, harder to deal on a quality, under contract, player.

Goes without saying.

BUT, if said player has made it VERY clear to his existing club (hierarchy and team mates), counter productive to keep him. Let alone if there are significant player rifts (and offering Viney a 5yr deal wouldn't sit well with Oliver if those two are 'foes'?)

You negotiate a fair price (and we have ample benchmarks - Judd, Shiel, Treloar, Neale etc) and you get it done.

As others have said, Dees have an over abundance of inside types.

Couple of extra first round pics...why not.

is Oliver a good user of the ball or just an extractor, I haven't seem him play much this year --- seems to me we need more outside quality not inside mid but I guess Cripps does need a hand before he is broken.

I get the feeling Melbourne is saying he's not going anywhere and is pushing that to the media trying to quash the talk, that doesn't mean Oliver himself hasn't asked to move.

There's so much smoke with this one and despite all week everyone in the media saying he's not going anywhere the rumour persists.

I'd say Oliver wants out and Melbourne are trying to kill that idea.

We can pay for Ben Brown and Polec to start with.

Not a great user or defensive minded but certainly is an elite extractor.
